Lol

Last week, Harrison lost 1R in Aptos to Q McGee (IRL) then comes to Cincy and beats Dolgo in 1R.

I enjoyed the Gulbis / Youzhny match in that it was good to see MY play well. Assisted no doubt by the somewhat half baked effort from EG.

Dimitrov playing well against Baker, despite an early break by BB in the first set. He took the first set 6-3. BB lost the opening game in the second, and is under pressure on serve again at 30-30.

Neither Harrison or Ferrer can keep my attention for long, but I note DF is up a set via a tb in the first set, but RH up a break i the second set.

Nice result for Davydenko, getting through against Paire.
Carpe Diem

Baker lost and Harrison down a break in the 3rd :(

Good to see Youzhny take out Gulbis, though.

Harrison goes up 40-15 then blows it by letting Ferrer score 4 straight points to break him for the match >:(

Maybe Sock can carry the flag!

Wished he would've had one more. Sock just went up 40-0 and then blew it with a bunch of horrible errors. Now he's down a break.

After such a promising start, massive disappointment from Sock. Errors all over the place.

Good to see Pospi win. I'm excited to see Rafa's start tomorrow and see if James Blake can keep playing well. Also hope that Lauren Davis can nab a huge upset over Li Na.

Impressive win by Stephens over Sharapova. Solid tennis for WTA standards I guess even Sharapova was awful in the decider. So many UE's to the net of her backhand. (62 total UE's  :zipped: )

Fed - Kohli next  ;-()

I came to Cincinnati without a sweater and it got very cool  :blue: so I came back early again tonight. Fed will have to do without me but I hope I can watch it on the computer.

I met several friends from previous years. One lady has been living with guilt for the last 12 months. It appears that the couple were at the hotel where the players stay. On the day of the final, she came face to face with Djokovic in the corridor and she wished him good luck for the match. As people remember, he did not do well  :scared:, losing the first set 0-6 to Fed, and then losing the second in a 6-7 tie-break.  ....and I thought it was all Nole's fault.

Tennis today was a mixed bag. Mertov and I watched Tommy Haas defeat Kevin Anderson 6-4, 6-4. Then I went to the very small court 7 to first see Nieminen win his match against Roger Vasselin. What I was really waiting for, was to see Pospisil play Gilles Simon. Right from the start Simon looked as though he did not want to be there. I was curious to see how Pospisil would handle Simon's backboard ground game. He did so fine but Simon could not handle the big Pospisil serve and never got into the match. Simon lost the first set 6-1, and retired with hip strain at 1-1 in the second. His temperament was not helped by the noisy Canadians. Simon has not done well recently. He also went out in the first round in Washington. Pospisil continues to impress.  Later on Mertov and I watched most of Raonic vs Jack Sock. Sock played well but eventually lost in three sets.

Now back to the computer to see Federer in the comfort of my warm motel room.
