WTA Baku - worst attended tournament

This is for reals, I kid you not! They say attendance might not crack 1000 for the entire tournament!  :lmao:

Wish I had a solution at the ready, but I don't. I don't think anyone does.
The WTA is just not watchable at the moment. This is where tennis is going in general, the WTA is just there much sooner. Unless they make some changes, significant changes, we may see a total drop in tennis attendance in 10 or 15 years.

Taiwan is seeking to host WTA and ATP tournament. Is any chance in the future that Taipei can replace Buka?

People get upset that the US has "too" many tournaments. But the fact of the matter is, the US supports tennis. You send a tournament to an unproven fan base and within a decade you may wind up with this.

If there were more people in attendance we would never know how pretty those seats are!   :gleam:
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

Funny they chose to sit where they did.
Can't sit too close at WTA events because of all the shrieking and squealing. ;-()

Actually, if you've ever been to a tennis tournament, you know that the best seats are maybe 10 rows up. You get a better perspective of all the action in the match. Sitting right up front isn't as good as it's cut out to be (or priced to be).

I know that silly.
That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my ground level chair just a few feet from the back fence during one match in Newport.  It was fun listening to JMac muttering to himself and see the size of Mal Washington's calves.  They were nearly as big as Scooter's! :scared:
