Good to see castle coming back. Hopefully general Herc an you all will stick around this time.  ;-()

Now, do we need 2 chat threads  :confused1: I suggest we use 1, it's hard keeping up with everything. Castle was the original, so I guess it's completely fine to restore it as it was.

Likewise  :))

By the way, Nadal was on fire, gratz to you and rest of his fans here.

He definitely pleasantly surprised me with that ultra aggressive tennis. It was very watchable, and I hope he can keep it that way.

he stepped in a little closer to the baseline.

return of serve was the difference. he managed to return fairly well.

you cant win if you cant break.

and in the final, he managed a very clean match. just 7 unforced errors.

The way I saw it Djokovic was lucky it wasn't in straights.

And the final was never in doubt. Raonic simply doesn't have the game to beat him. Nor fair play  :)~

nadal started to tighten up a little bit in the 2nd set. he was losing a vast majority of the longer points.

nole was there to be had in straights. I agree.

Jerzy got knocked out by Blake!!!
Not so bad for me as I really like Blake and good to see him still playing with some fight in his game.
Jerzy, I'Ve said it countless times that he needs to work on his serve.
He has power but needs placement and to mix it up some, he'll get the idea soon enough hopefully.

Hi everyone.

Though a bit late to the "party", I've been reviewing the earlier unfortunate exchange and to add/comment/clarify to what Slasher has said, for the future..

The Castle is supposed to be a place where people ( Generals, Knights, Queens, Princesses, whatever :) ) just want to relax, talk about things like tennis or whatever else is on your mind, without discord. :)  A harmonious, inviting, environment if you will.  We've said it before. Everyone who supports this feeling is welcome!

It's not supposed to be a place of strife, arguments, etc. It makes everyone uncomfortable, and people stop wanting to be here. Sometimes we might have discussions that involve players and sometimes those tend to get overly heated.  We try to avoid those situations and generally know when we have crossed the line.

If you like or want discord or similar, go to other threads or back to MTF or your favorite trolling forums. Not here.  I won't put up with it, and neither will the people that come here to have a good friendly chat or discussion.  If it is noticed that this discord or similar behavior is happening, I'll eventually either warn you in public or via PM.

1. Anybody that posts comments that are clearly intended to either bait or disrupt the thread or forum will be warned and if chat continues along those lines even after the warning, they will be banned.

User T4U is dead (or your new nickname), consider yourself publicly warned under this guideline.

2. Anyone that retaliates to the baiting or disruption by counter-attacking or insulting the baiter will also be warned, and if it continues, will be banned.  Instead of counter-attacking or insulting, please report the disruption.

User Nekro t4u , consider yourself publicly warned under this guideline.

Note that we will be a bit more UNsympathetic toward the person baiting or attempting to cause discord.

In the moderator role here, I prefer to step in as little as possible.  We'd rather think of ourselves as facilitators of kind discussion.  It's unfortunate when we are forced to intervene.  Let's please strive to make this and other Castles a good place to be. :)

Respectfully,
masterclass

Please also note, that, besides this public warning, action has been taken against the users who have disrupted the forum:

Nekro - 7 days ban for insults and offensive posting.
T4U Is Dead - 3 days ban for baiting, trolling and posting without a proper user name.

It has pained me to do it, and I hope I will never have to do it again.

Please carry on unabated and don't refer to these two messages again. Continue the discussion where it left off.

General Lugburz and Hercules, that is pretty much spot on.

A much more aggressive display from Clay Warrior got him the victory over No1e.

Points ended much quicker also, so it saves on the wear and tear.

But don't be fooled.  No1e is not going anywhere.  He's still a force on hard courts.
I think Nadal's aggressive tactics surprised No1e.  I think Djokovic and his team will be better prepared next time.
Also, No1e self-destructed on serve in the first set.
Nadal still isn't returning that well in general. But it's nice for him when his opponents stop putting first serves in and double fault .
It gives him more confidence, and really puts pressure on the poor serving server.

That said, I think Nadal might go out early in Cinci.  His game is close to optimal on hard courts right now, and he doesn't want to jeopardize his knee issues by going deep 2 hard court tourneys in 2 weeks.  With a good draw, the US Open (Arthur Ashe Stadium) conditions might be pretty good for him if they are as they were last year.

Here are my current candidates as favorites for the US Open in alphabetical order.

Del Potro - computer #7, US Open 2009 winner - and in excellent form
Djokovic - computer #1, US Open 2011 winner and excellent form
Federer - computer #5, 5 time consecutive winner (2004-2008), but recent form poor and current status unknown.
Murray - computer #2, US Open 2012 winner, Wimbledon 2013 winner, but recent form questionable.
Nadal - computer #3, US Open 2010 winner, and best current form of any player

I think any one of these should take it, but none of them have won more than one since 2008.

Outside chance - Berdych, Janowicz

Spoilers - many.

Respectfully,
masterclass

I saw the Jerzy match, he just wasn't there is about all I can say.

The younger ones will show up but not always, and when their regular game isn't working then they get in big trouble.

This seems to be like a Rafa fans only chit chat hiding place (thread):ZZZZZ).

However, why do we need so many chat threads? Old castle, New castle. I don't get it. It's plain silly.

Agreed, it's not like there's so many people here that a few threads are needed.
