I think they will use the roof only when they conditions are unplayable with it. Do you have any examples of play bring suspended because of wind?

Also, if RG gets the roof, I wonder if they will close it right when it starts to rain or when it's raining too heavily. You can play in a light rain on clay.

Didn't they suspend last year USO SF between Ferrer and Djokovic due to wind?

That was a specific case. I think they were told to evacuate the tennis center because of the coming storm. I'm not sure if they had been allowed to continue playing even under a roof.

I heard McEnroe say he had a match suspended due to "wind" in Indian Wells one year because sand was blowing on the court and in the players' eyes.

So how long does it take to close/open?

For sure the breaks will be shorter than at Wimbledon, you don't need to wait 30mins to get the humidity low.
