I missed it. Youzhny came back from  1-2 sets and 1-4 (when I left) to win?

Outstanding. The last point I saw was when he asked the crowd to show him some love, too.

ouch, that was brutal. Clinical Djokovic 6:3 6:0 6:0. Great net game 28/30, fantastic serving, didn't lose a point for a set and a half on his serve. 34 winners.

Wow, that was some domination. Looks like 2.0 is trying to break out again.

46 rally between Youzhny and Hewitt  ..-) ..-)

How many were slices. That's about as long as it gets.

Anyone know the record?

Djokovic looks almost as good as Federer did for 3 rounds  :rofl_2:
Draws today....
“It is not too far way,” Toni Nadal told The Australian after Nadal collected the 13th major of his career by mowing down Novak Djokovic in an electrifying final of the US Open. “It is getting very, very close for Rafa to be level with Roger or more.”

Hewitt served for the match at 5-2 and 5-4. Story of his summer. No nerve when he's serving for the match. It's really sad. I guy with his fighter mentality craps himself in clutch situations.

Kohl is the fifth best player in the draw. I haven't seen Berdych/Wawrinka play like Kohl did.

Kohli, Youzny ... same thing. They can challenge Nole or Rafa but that's it. No matter how you put it, it's very difficult to win best of 5 against top players. Rafa has an open path to the final as both Robredo and Ferrer are his pigeons. I don't think he'll lose a set to those two. Djokovic will have to deal with Murray first and that's gonna be a tough one.

sorry wasn't counting slices  :))

Great win for Youzhny. Happy for the Colonel, would have been happy either way. Two great players.

It kinda sucks that both men R4 matches will be played at the same time. I'll probably watch Berdych/Wawrinka as it is going to be more competitive/interesting than Murray/Istomin.

Also if Wawrinka beat Berdych and Murray, he'd trouble Djokovic. Although I think Murray will be in the semi, so never mind.

yeah, Wawa could bother Nole. He almost won in that marathon 5 setter at the AO. I do believe that Berdych, who looks pretty good so far will prevail.

Istomin breaks, serving for the first set, got broken  ... chocking at it's best. Wawa/Berdman, set a piece.

Istomin, who is playing very well btw, takes the first set. I'm still annoyed with Murray's body language. Every time he loses a point he is holding his hips or his back as if he was dying  ..-). Murray is also pretty passive, too much pushing ...

So nothing new it seems  ..-)

Good job Isomin, glad he took the 1st set. I'm watching other match though.

Nadal has been missing some gimme's this match.  Very uncharacteristic of him.

Nadal now with 53 holds in a row, and only faced 7 break points!
He's got a decent serve and can back it up for sure.

Notice that Nadal is averaging 107mph on 1st serve. That's about 14mph less than his average in 2010 US Open. He's using it to setup his first groundstroke, rather than going for free points.

Serve speed alone doesn't make one great server.

That's my point. Nadal isn't going for speed this year, he's going for direction in order to set up the point. Plus I read an interview in 2011 when they asked him why he didn't serve at full pace after 2010. He said that he doesn't like serving at full pace, because the ball is returned to him too quickly which gives him less time to make a clean first strike and less time to make a backhand into a forehand.
Excellent tactic for him!
CONK da ball!!!
