Roger played well today.  I'm happy.
Querrey...what can I say.  Guess the pressure of playing in the US Open was too much for him (again).
Tomic.... :rofl_2: :rofl_2: :rofl_2: :rofl_2:

Ferrer won, but lost a set.
Davydenko will probably be next to retire.

I'm surprised that the Isner/Monfils match wasn't on Ashe either.  This will probably be a better match than Nadal's match.  That will be a blow-out for Nadal.

Nice to see Fed playing well, but that will always be a constant against the weaker players.  Curious to see how he holds up against the big dogs.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

With the way Roger has been losing to 'lower ranked players' this year...heck, ANY WIN is a great one for me! :))

I have to watch the Isner/Gael match. I don't think it'll be televised in Canada so I'll be stuck with some lousy live stream. Not interested in Rafa match at all, it's gonna be a snooze fest, but they'll show it on TV  :\. I'm so pissed that the Isner/Monfils match is not on Ash.

I want to watch Duval too ...

Great win for Sock, finishing it out relatively easily and now he's officially taken over Jerzy's spot! Should mean a relatively easy next match! GO JACK!

Great to see the crazy Brit Evans not only winning again, but that it's against Tomic makes it even better!

Ugh. Sam has been SO disappointing recently. Luckily, Isner's been taking up the slack. It'll be interesting to see how he does against Monfils after absolutely crushing his first round opponent.

Rafa is the FIRST to qualify for WTF this year! :D

Great 1st set for Isner! 7-5

Monfils is trying to extend every rally. Isner is trying to end everything with a big FH or coming forward. Great attacking tennis at 6-5 to get the break.

Isner 11/16 at the net in 1st set :thumbs-up:

Monfils is playing possum or he wants to collect his check and leave the US.

Isner leads 4-1 (1 break) and up a set. Monfils is clowning around and not putting forth much effort.

Because TSN is usually showing only  matches being played on Ash. TSN (The Sport Network) is the only Canadian sport network broadcasting the USO and all other slams.

anyway, go Isner.

Monfils is an unprofessional, embarrassing, disgrace. :paper bag:

He's not taking the match serious. He's just trying to make the fans laugh. The only time I've seen this type of behavior is in mixed doubles, when men serve to women and everyone -- players and fans -- l :rofl_2:  because the girls are dodging bombs.

Isner seems a bit put off. Threw down a 139 out wide and followed it with a 138 up the T. Monfils thought both serves were  :rofl_2:

I'm really enjoying watching John play. It's been a long time since I've said that.

3-2 in the 3rd. Enjoying watching him come up with bomb after bomb in big pressure moments. :good:

It's the easiest language in the world. Both Fed and Djokovic are fluent in English plus they both speak several other languages  too. they have some soft accent, but that's it.

f*ck, Isner got broken  :mad1:

It was unusual to see how much the crowd was pulling for Monfils. I know they want to see more tennis, but it was "different".

English is one of the hardest. And, exactly. They're raised in widely multi-lingual countries. Nadal wasn't. And he's trying his best to learn multiple languages :P He finally had some French ready for winning RG.

Yeah, that's pretty insulting. NY has always been fairly rude during the USO, but they've at least always been loyal to their flag carriers.

I was just going to comment on that. It is beyond pathetic. I can't believe it  :ranting:
