I agree Isner's game has been improved over the years, but as you sad I'm definitely not a fan. At least he's much more enjoyable to watch than let's say Raonic.
But vs annoying Monfils that's an easy call, so I'm happy Isner won.

I'm worried tonight for Kohli, but he can do it. We've seen t before. Auf Geht's!

Quote
"He's a fun-loving guy and an exciting guy to watch no matter where he is playing, but honestly it was a bit surprising," said Isner, the 13th seed.

"I know the New York fans. They like to see long matches and fifth sets, but I was a little disappointed. Not going to sugar-coat it. If I was playing him in France, it certainly wouldn't be like that."

Isner's frustration reflected the pressure he is under as he attempts to become the first American man since Andy Roddick at the US Open in 2003 to win a Grand Slam title.

"I had a similar match at the French Open against Tommy Haas in Paris. I had about five people cheering for me and those were the five people in my box. So the French people there were cheering for a German," he said.

"I could say something else, but I'm not going to."

Monfils was delighted by the atmosphere.

"It was good. I love playing here and the New York crowd has always responded well to me. It was a great occasion," he said.

Isner will be testing the patience of the home crowd again in the next round when he meets Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Just when I started praising him I read this  :ZZZZZ) :ZZZZZ) :ZZZZZ) :ZZZZZ)

By the looks of it I should be a massive fan of Djokovic, Tipsarevic, Troicki, Raonic???  ..-) ..-)

Isner just stfu and play some TENNIS.  :)~

The crowd will probably go "crazy" in Isner's favor since he expressed his disappointment in that Monfils match with them. So...just get ready fir it.

I'm very sure we are heading for a Nadal-Ferrer semi.
“It is not too far way,” Toni Nadal told The Australian after Nadal collected the 13th major of his career by mowing down Novak Djokovic in an electrifying final of the US Open. “It is getting very, very close for Rafa to be level with Roger or more.”

Nadal leads 6-4 6-3 over Dodig! Nadal has not been broken at the US Open this year  :king:

Nadal won 6-4 6-3 6-3, never broken  :king:

Nadal 24 forehand winners. Dodig 2 forehand winners  :zipped:

Nadal looks way sharper this week than at Cincy. No surprise, because to win Montreal and Cincy you win 10 matches in 12 days. Hard to look sharp at Cincy with a schedule like that. So Federer is going to have to improve on the Cincy performance if he wants to take a set from Nadal again.

Kohl leads 2 sets to 1 over Isner. I expected Isner vs Nadal but actually Kohl vs Nadal would be a more entertaining match. And Kohl has taken 5 sets from Nadal in 5 hardcourt meetings (Nadal won all 5 matches).

Isner is playing a bad match tactically . He should try to go to Kohli's BH more often. Isner also looks tired, but I hope that just my impression.

Tipsy def. Sock. He'll meet Ferrer in R4. That should be interesting. I hope Tipsy will take Feru down (can't stand Ferrer's game style).

Isner can't do much about it because he's sooooo passive when he's not on serve. Kohli is dictating the points by ripping fh and bh to Isner's bh. So Kohli's not letting him to dictate the points by going at his bh.
