Isner is playing a bad match tactically . He should try to go to Kohli's BH more often. Isner also looks tired, but I hope that just my impression.

Tipsy def. Sock. He'll meet Ferrer in R4. That should be interesting. I hope Tipsy will take Feru down (can't stand Ferrer's game style).

Isner can't do much about it because he's sooooo passive when he's not on serve. Kohli is dictating the points by ripping fh and bh to Isner's bh. So Kohli's not letting him to dictate the points by going at his bh.
yeah, I know, especially part about Isner being too passive but still ... I want Isner to win because he'll stand a chance against Rafito. Kohli, mmm, don't think so  :\.

Kohli did beat him once while Isner didn't. Also all hard court matches were pretty good and I believe Kohli took more sets of Nadal than Isner.

But I know what you mean. The scoreline would be more tighter, but the outcome will be never in doubt.

Still, its quite impressive that Kohl has taken a set in every match he's played on hardcourts vs Nadal. All 5 of them. Nadal is in better form now however than in those 5 matches. But should be at least entertaining shot-making, and perfect preparation for the Naderer match.

“It is not too far way,” Toni Nadal told The Australian after Nadal collected the 13th major of his career by mowing down Novak Djokovic in an electrifying final of the US Open. “It is getting very, very close for Rafa to be level with Roger or more.”

I'm surprised I didn't notice this when the draw came out. Kohl really is the perfect preparation match for Nadal playing against Federer. Kohl goes for his shots plenty, also uses the slice, and has always stretched Nadal on hardcourts. Its absolutely perfect. But, he's not home yet. And Isner may look a bit down, but its not a physical match, so should have enough in the tank if it goes 5.

It's great to see that Louis Armstrong is completely packed, I can't see a single empty seat. Great crowd.

I wish I could watch the Gasqet/Tursunov match but can't be bothered watching two matches at the same time. Go Richie  :cheer:.

Isner pulling Monfils now trying to boost the crowd so Kohli can snap from the pressure. Disgusting.
Not gonna happen though!  :))

Isner breaks, serving for the 4th set. He still looks too slow and fatigued. not sure if it's mental of physical.

Gasquet takes the third set. c'mon Richie, one more

as i said, I'm not sure. Isner is playing like a clown, he is just pushing the ball back. the way I see it atm, Kohli deserves to win this match.

Heavyweight clash between Kohl and Nadal, far more entertaining than Isner-Nadal, based on what Kohl has done today!

It was typical match from Isner. He ain't fooling me ever again.  ..-)

Perfect way to shut up Isner's box and the crowd which Isner desperately wanted to push Kohli off. But not this time!  :))

This match was a perfect example why I don't like players with huge serves.
As you would say they are one trick ponies most of the time.

Now clowning like Monfils today aside,
It's a real shame that a guy like Isner with such a huge serve can't serve and volley properly. With all that height and that serve Kohli with 179cms ahd more net approaches and had some phenomenal clutch volleys.

They would be much more fun to watch and we would have much versatile game.
I also mind Berdych for this, but his beautiful ground game makes it all up.
Isner is so passive when he doesn't depend on his 1st serve. It's painful to watch.

On a side note what an awesome match-ups are coming my way.

Haas - Youzhny the battle of old schoolers, probably the best slices on tour.

I can't even express what would it be if Haas meets Hewitt in 4th round. Oh man so many memories of early century.

Kohli-Nadal Always great matches on hard. Kohli always had something to give.

Wawrinka-Baggy Another joy to eyes for old school tennis fans.
