MURRAY TO HAVE BACK SURGERY
« on: September 19, 2013, 12:24:22 PM »
May miss rest of 2013.

It's suppose to be minor surgery to alleviate a problem in his lower back.  Murray has withdrawn from all upcoming ATP obligations and is reportedly going to have the procedure done at some point early next week.

Sad news. Hope the surgery goes well and that he recovers fully.

That's highly unfortunate. Right after qualifying for the WTF!

Rafa is the FIRST to qualify for WTF this year! :D

Injury is never welcome for a sportsman, but what a pity that Murray has had to confront it just as he was beginning to gain some excellent results.  I hope this surgery is successful & helps him to recover full fitness very soon.

Back injuries......the most common cause of tennis retirement. Sampras, Agassi, Federer, Murray, Djokovic. All have back problems. Its like at time-bomb. Djokovic stretches more than all of them. Murray moves in a more orthodox fashion. We'll see which lasts the longest.
“It is not too far way,” Toni Nadal told The Australian after Nadal collected the 13th major of his career by mowing down Novak Djokovic in an electrifying final of the US Open. “It is getting very, very close for Rafa to be level with Roger or more.”
