Interesting results today with Murray almost losing, and Maria and Rafa lost! Wow!  At least Roger and Stan are still in it!

Stephens and Ivanovic are going to be out here a long time. Sloane is a slow starter but strong finisher...

And it's already 4.42am here. Still waiting for Haas though.

Rafa says his first opponent wasn't a great draw to start this tournament. That would be Stepanek. Hahaha

Not a great start for Tommy but he breaks back as he raises his level.

ups and downs in this one as Tommy breaks to serve for set only to gift it away to Kei. Tommy leads 5-4*

Tommy takes the 1st set 7-6.

Very good tennis at the end of the set with some amazing consistent tennis by Tommy.
Especially on backhand. He's upping his ground game as the match progresses.

Tommy breaks and will now serve at *3-2. Too solid so far, can't see him losing this one if he keeps this level.

T.Haas def. K.Nishikori 7-6 6-2  Ups and downs by both at the start but from there Tommy was phenomenal. So consistent on both sides forcing errors from Kei.
While Tommy was too solid, Kei didn't play too well especially on his bh.

 Good win, Roger next

I saw the first set. Nishikori came out firing, but Tommy was steady. Nice TBer.

Hah, that could apply to Dolgo as well. Although he placed his shots more wisely than Radek.

I wasn't sure who to support in this match. I want Nishikori to have a strong year but watching Haas play is just really cool

I know. I saw him squeak past Marianno last round, so we know he's better than Marianno.
