Jack Sock is just turrible!

That dude forgot how to play tennis. I saw him once a few years ago at the USO take out #22 Florian Meyers and had really high hopes. My god, he has regressed. No game plan against journeyman Tim Smyczek.

Seems like we've been in a holding pattern for a couple years now waiting for the next crop of young guns to produce quality tennis consistently.  It's startin' ta piss me off.
Thank goodness Stanimal played big at the AO this year.
Hardly an up and comer though. :(

Perhaps this topic deserves it's own thread.....

Maybe something like,

Fortunately, guys are playing better late in their careers so it doesn't seem likely we'll see another valley like we did between Sampras and Fed. As for the last generation of young guns, they all made a charge then, save for Del Potro, hit a brick wall and faltered. Good to see Gasquet and Stan resurrect their careers because both had careers defined thusly. As for this generation's young guns, the players with the most upside and on the move IMO are Dimitrov and Pospisil. Raonic is on the fence because he gets a lot of knocks. I always like the guy around 6'1 so of the youngsters, I like Dimitrov. I don't think Jerzy's upside is as high.

Maybe something like, "Are today's players better after they hit 28 than they were in their early 20s?" deserves it's own topic... I'm inclined to say they are. Maybe not those at the very top of the food chain, but on whole.

I understand networks aren't fond of televising men (best of 5) during the slams, but TC is showing a s**t ton of women's tennis at the start of IW.

Wooo! Fognini is :ranting:

Got a really bad call on a ball that clipped the line made worse by Harrison calling it out! Chair said replay the point. Fognini sits down, calls the supervisor, and tells the chair, "That's my f**king point! What are you doing?!" Gives the supervisor an earful and receives a code violation for salty language.

After all is said and done, Fognini breaks Harrison. Then Harrison goes to his chair and calls for the trainer. Chair says can't do that now, have to wait until it's your serve. Fognini holds and Harrison doesn't call the trainer lol

Fognini was up 5-2 in the first but lost 7-5. Fognini leads 4-1 in the second. These guys are taking their cuts!

TV is so ridiculous, Fognini is up a break in the third but we've been watching Nadal and Stepanek walk out of the locker room then warm up for 10 minutes.

Soooooo :cursing:

Radek!!!

Looked like a doubles player on that point.

Kept pinning Rafa to his backhand corner then rushed the net to knock off a volley. Saves 2 BPs, too. 4-1
