Isner is more than one-dimension player for me. Karlovic, I will call him one-dimension player. Not Isner

Honestly, Isner played the best tennis of his life. He finally found a BH. The problem for him was he probably should have been more one dimensional, because staying in rallies and slugging it out BH to BH ultimately lead to him breaking down. People are going to remember that Djokovic was up a set and a break and dropped serve twice while serving for the match, but no one will mention that Nole was serving at 0-40 4-5 in the first set and came up with magic, twice to get through that game. Nole was that close to going out in 2 sets.

Isner's forehand is a freaking laser too.  Seen some nice touch around the net as well.  Combine that with his serve and steadier backhand and you have a tough match ahead of you if you are playing Isner.

He's a solid top 10er now, whether he gets there or not as injuries might keep him from getting the necessary points. But fact of the matter is, he's a solid top 10er. No shame having Isner as USA #1.

I question if he has what it takes to go the distance in slams though with the long 5 setters can add up.  Maybe if he takes out all 7 opponents in straights.  ;)
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Well, that would make him a Big 4, and I didn't say he belonged in the Big 4, but he's certainly got top 10 game.

Isner hit a 103 mph FH and a 96 mph BH in that match, he gots the goods if he can get those long legs setup.

Pennetta should keep this interesting. I'd imagine she'd have a better chance against Aga than pure power.

The only thing in question is whether Pennetta can serve this thing out. She's a nervous one in the clutch. And of course, Aga may seize on it and go from half dead to blood in the water.

Hi all.

Good to see Fed in such stunning form.
Unless Djokovic gets to serve better, this is going to be over quickly.  ..-)

Roger is schooling Novak. Don't know what happened to the space between his ears, but Nole isn't the mental giant of years past.

My impression too. Could be one of those Novak finals when one wants to ask for one's money back.

Hey, I get to like any player over 30. I despised Jimmy Connors for years then once he got long in the tooth, I started pulling for him. Nothing against Novak, but I'm loving that he's getting pwned by a 32 year old.

Two 32 year old winners today???

That would be a first for sure.

I cheer for the seniors too!  :))

Added to that, Fed is in really spectacular form today. It is worth just watching him.

Wow, did you hear Cahill? Novak flinched...because he decided to strike first rather than wait for Roger to make an error. That had to be a +15 ball rally as it was.

Lost all respect for Cahill  :thumb-down:

At least Novak is now making a game of this.

 :rofl_2:

Yeah, I've always liked him, but he's apparently part of the problem if he'd prefer to see errors than winners...

oh, wait, he was Andre Agassi's coach, wasn't he...
