BG asks Novak about the point.

Nole says he doesn't know the rule, just that he was careful not to touch the net like he did in RG. He even said he reached over the net but reassured Andy that he didn't touch the net. Then said maybe Andy's right, I don't know the rule.

 :rofl_2:

If all that's true -- telling Andy he reached over the net -- he REALLY doesn't know the rule! lol
Better get JamesDster on his arse!

It's funny, people are more interested in who she is than the match.

She's universally hated. Everyone wants Lindsay and Stubbsy.

Still a mystery.

The match up between Murray and Djokovic are so boring that incidents like the one today will always overshadow the tennis.  :)~

By the way, the incident is clear as day.
As a neutral that was totally Murray's point. Novak showed bad sportsmanship for admiting he went over the net and did nothing to change umpire's decision which was one of the worst I've seen in a while.

Even if the umpire is arguing that Djokovic touched the ball after it came on his side and THEN going over the net with his racket, the replay clearly shows
that he hit the ball while it was still in Murray's side of the court.

Seems like everyone saw this but the umpire. And Djokovic should have conceded the point.

God knows I don't like Murray but I gotta be realistic always and unbiased.

This is exactly the reason why these rules must be followed BY ALL MEANS. We all get in the heat of the moment mistakes are being made, but players even knowing 'this point should have been mine' need to know that touching the net or playing the ball BEFORE IT REACHES YOUR HALF will result in LOSING the point.
That way you don't mess with the outcome of the game but do things by the rules so no one could complain that decision changed the outcome.

So if Djokovic was really playing by the book and morally right, he should have conceded the point as he previously did in his career, and not weighs which one he should and which one he shouldn't concede.

I have no pity for Murray because he lost the point hitting a ball that was going to drop into the net. I know it's the rule, but on that particular point, Murray deserved to lose the point.

I have no pity for Murray as well but I have pity for tennis integrity sake if I could use that word here.
Knowing how people here regard Novak as a god and highly moral, conceding points and all. But somehow he didn't concede this one. Calculating much, Robredo was a routine win but vs Murray he weighs out the circumstances so he goes all silent saying that he doesn't know the rules?!
I mean really? He doesn't know that he CAN'T hit the ball before it reaches his half of the court? Nole please.  ..-)
