Murray and Lendl announced their decision on the British player's blog on Wednesday...

"Working with Andy over the last two years has been a fantastic experience for me," Lendl said. "He is a first class guy. Having helped him achieve his goal of winning major titles, I feel like it is time for me to concentrate on some of my own projects moving forward including playing more events around the world which I am really enjoying.

"I will always be in Andy's corner and wish him nothing but great success as he too goes into a new phase of his career."

Lendl has recently played exhibitions in Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Nashville, Charlotte and London. He has also been giving clinics in the Canary Islands as well as opening new courts in Bluffton, South Carolina, at the Ivan Lendl Junior Tennis Academy.

Murray will be defending his Miami title next week before leading Britain in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup next month against Italy.

"I'm eternally grateful to Ivan for all his hard work," said Murray, 26. "We've learned a lot as a team and it will be of benefit in the future."
Lendl said it was time to "concentrate on some of my own projects, including playing more events around the world"...

"Ivan's been very patient, as I'm not always easy to deal with. He's also honest with me. If I work hard he's happy, if I don't he's disappointed and he'll tell me. He has got me mentally slightly different going into these big matches."

Kinda shocker but irrelevant from my point of view.

One announcer said that Lendl was too much of a 'task master' and Murray wanted to "have a life".  We will see how it works with his 'tennis'...or works against his tennis... Who knows.  With Murray, he needs someone who isn't afraid to say "NO" to him.  Lendl was that guy.  Now he's surrounded with a lot of "YES" men and he can bark up at them all he wants when things are not going well.

My prediction is that Murray will do nothing until he finds that person. Will bounce in and out of top 5 and will be a on my, "others" list when it comes to winning majors.

Strange that they are saying scheduling conflicts were at the heart of their split. If that's the case, sounds like Lendl was over the whole coaching gig thing, and that makes the most sense seeing that he's really not a coach per se.

Yea, seems like Lendl wants to spend more time on the 'senior' tour now.
