I love it everytime Stan smokes Ferrer on clay. Ferrer looks clueless out there, like "what the f**k just happened"? It's like he spiritually accepts the whippings from Nadal, but he doesn't get what Stan does.

He just couldn't handle the BH angles Stan had, it took him off court. The man did some serious running.
It has to be motivating for Fed to have a fellow countryman cleaning up the scraps for him.

He's come down a level, not so sharp consistently.

Fed 6-4

I didn't see jitters in the latter stages of the set, so it looks like good tennis.

Variety from Federer causes some problems to Wawrinka game.

Ferrer just gave the same looks all game so Wawrinka knew what was coming.

Still, Stan doesn't have that sharp edge all the time. Looks like he did during the second set against Ferrer, not great but very good though.

Well, even though I was pulling for Roger.... I have to say Congratulations to Stan.  His FIRST Master's Event this year to go along with his first grand slam.  He's having a fantastic year!   :))

Roger had to be disappointed not to be able to take advantage of no Nadal or Djokovic in the
finals, but he was very gracious at the end with Stan.  Compared to the way Roger played most of
last year, this was a very good effort.  Not nearly as many shanks or other UFE's, and his volleying
has risen to another level.  If he can volley this well on clay, look out at the Big W!

I hope for a safe delivery of the baby BEFORE the French!

Fed came in as a wild card so probably wasn't fully prepared, he did well anyway and looks much better as the season wears on.

Good to see Wawrinka win though, it gives some validity that his game is on track and must be considered in future tournaments.

I remember you. Your the blonde chick who knows how to spell "racquet."

Yep, that's me.  I come and go with posting, to say the least, but I do enjoy reading the entries,
and when it comes to Federer, I have to speak up from time to time.

I never thought we'd be still watching him move so beautifully and make some of those outrageous
shots that he quietly revels in.  He is loving the game right now, and I hope nothing happens
during the rest of the season to change that.

I'm glad he and Edberg seem to be enjoying their partnership.  It's interesting that Annacone undoubtedly tried to talk Roger into coming to the net more often, but somehow in just a few months, Edberg seems to have gotten the message across more positively.

Can't wait to see how the season unfolds.  I will miss DelPotro.  He is my 2nd favorite after Roger.

Wawrinka's backhand is like Federer's forehand, one of the best shots in tennis world.
