Wake up, everyone  :ZZZZZ) . Draws are out. :))

Fed has an easy one, but if he starts as badly as he began in Cincinnati, he could have trouble with Matosevic  :) , who will hopefully stay cool under duress.  :shut-up:

Nole's looks a lot harder.

Matosevic will not trouble Fed, IMO. Novak does have a tough draw buy hey ... I'm hoping for the Nole/Fed final  :). It would be fantastic because they always seem to 'deliver good stuff' when playing against one another.

I'll be also supporting youngsters but I don't expect much from them  ..-)

Can't wait for it to start tomorrow. I'm out of town (in the woods), so I hope I can be able to see the matches!

And he has knocked Youzhny out! Great play from the rookie. I think he's got a future ahead of him.

I thought it pretty good too.  :))

In an interview he gave before the match where he talked about New York, I had to admit that his world outlook is so very different from my own   ..-) .  There must be at least a two generation gap between us. But we agree about tennis!

I'm watching the Kyrgios - Seppi match streaming through my computer on ESPN 3. Good to know about, if you are interested in the small court matches and getting tired of watching the Williams sisters on the main channel.

Kyrgios is serving magnificently but his ground game isn't much today. He has the first two sets 6-4, 7-6.  :)

update: He got he third 6-3 with one break in serve. A good win, but he would not get far with Federer with today's ground game.  :(

Thank goodness for the 'net and the options it provides!
I too, am tired of being spoon fed matches of Masha and Da Sistahs walking all over opponents and missing matches like the dog fight between Dancevic and Sousa.  Then there's the issue of the talking heads chattering away amongst themselves while solid matches are being played.  But enough of the complaints!

Kyrgios is a pleasure to watch!
I liked the pluck of Cici and her willingness to move into the forecourt.
Could she be the next front runner for the U.S. women when Serena retires in 2020? ;-()

I thought Sam Groth did pretty well against Federer last night. Mertov thinks that he is another up and coming Australian and having watched him, I agree  :) . Once he gets those volleys right, he will be a real menace to all. Still, It's very much a game in progress. As Richard Pagliaro over at tennis .com remarked " Watching massive servers trying to beat Federer with pure pace is like watching a heavyweight fighter trying to knock out a shadow—they swing with menacing intentions but often punch themselves out. " That's the way it was.  :scared:

I'm watching the Ferrer - Simon match on CBS. So far, 3 -3 on serve, first set. There are going to be many long rallies and it may come down to whose legs survive best.

Not a good day for Ferrer.  :(  Simon in prime backboard form, Ferrer with 50+ unforced errors. Ferrer lost in 4 sets but fought to the end.

That's my tennis watching for today.

It looks like Fed/Granollabar will finish their match tonight but this sucks.

By the way, welcome to the board  :welcome).

Again, I have to b/tch but it's the USO and nobody is posting anything  :mad1:. I probably made 100 posts on MTF since the USO started , but here it's freaking dead. Only 15 posts and we are in R4 already ... wake up people.

We got Dimitrov next playing Goffin, should be good.

Thiem got thru to the fourth round, not bad for youngster.

I can't believe how little attention/respect Bautista-Agut is getting from the main media.  They all act as if Federer is already in the quarters, and as if Bautista-Agut did not exist.  He is the first player in this tournament that Federer will face who does not have a clear weakness in his game that the Swiss can exploit at will.  I don't believe it will be a cakewalk for Fed.  In any case, I hope Bautista-Agut does well win or lose to show these so-called experts that he is there and legit, plus he is one of the nicer guys on the tour.

I'll bet Fed isn't taking the match lightly.
He should know better by now.
This type of opportunity to win a slam may never come his way again and I think he knows that.
I hope Agut brings his A game and that it's a competitive match.
May the best man win! :)

I hope Jo has a good day.
He's a showman and hopefully will rise to this occasion.

Both Gasdick and Monfils were drenched last night.
Nice to see Gael stepping up and playing a bit more offensively right out of the gate and then throughout the match.  Dude's got skillzzzz!

Disappointed that Kyrgios went out, but happy for the veteran Tommy.

Surprised that Simon won the battle of the retrievers vs. Ferrer.  Must have been an off day for David..... :confused1:

Dimitrov looked baffled in the first set but made a nice recovery.

Berdych and Cilic continue to fly under the radar into the second week.
Both very dangerous with big games.

Nice to see Stan get a few wins under his belt.  Could be just the confidence boost he needs to go deep this tourney.

 :bye1: :bye1:  Masha.
While I admire her pluck and overall character, I've never liked her game or her gamesmanship shriek.  Kudos to Sunshine for holding her poise at the end of the match and clinch it with a winner no less!

Sad to see Venus fall.  She is such a great champion.
I continue to pull for Serena despite her shortcomings and foul mouth.
Perhaps they'll take another doubles slam together.

How's that Alex? ;-()
