Australian Open 2005 Game
« Reply #20 on: January 14, 2005, 07:36:34 PM »
Well actually, you could guess all 16 seeds to be the champion, but if only one of them is, then you only win 1 point.  I think i had 3 guys lose in the semis  :)

I will wait until Sunday and probably relook at everything anyways.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

lol, I am still interested to see who emerges ahead out of this partially open field for the women.

At what time EST today is the first ball hit at the AO?  Or will it be EST tomorrow?  I need to know when to lock down this thread.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Matches start today at 7:00 PM EST and coverage on ESPN2 also starts at 7:00 PM EST for Sunday January 16.  This has been a change from the early listings that were posted in Tennis magazine.   When they realized there would be no NHL at this time at the start of December they decided to move up the three hours of coverage and cover the first matche live.  This looks like a good moce since that has Serena in the first match and that would be one you would want to see.  Then ESPN2 will repeat Tilt twice.  The same will also happen next Sunday evening.  That will give those on EST and well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands a change to get to bed at a decent time at least on those two days.  The other days will remain the same with coverage starting at various time but mostly 11:00 PM EST this week.  That really only those on PST and westward a chance to get to bet by 11:00 PM.  Next week the wonen's semifinals and final will be live at 9:30 PM EST on Wednesday and Friday nights just like before.  The men's semifinals and final will be live on ESPN Deportes only at 3:30 AM EST on Thursday, Friday and Sunday mornings.  Since the Spanish lanuguage ESPN service is having it live it seem the live broadcast will be dropped on ESPN2 and seen on tape at about 2:00 PM EST when the daytime show normlly shows.  The final will move over to ESPN and be at noon EST.  This chance to night matches for the men local time while not so good in the US will help those in Europe which will see it live at 9:30 AM instead of the wee hours.  Those in Europe will still see the women in the wee hours.
