AO 2005 - Men's Draw
« Reply #1 on: January 13, 2005, 02:36:55 PM »
Tons of players are already out of the AO and others are questionable.

Philippoussis - out with a groin injury
Agassi - not sure yet - Hip
Dent - Sick and pulled out of the Sydney tournament, but should be fine for AO
Paes is out of mens dubs and possibly mixed. - foot injury
Joachim Johansson - hamstring - still unsure
Srichaphan
Nadal
Ancic

The biggest bummer is Agassi.  We all kno whe is not getting younger and he always does so well here...  If he misses this year it will be huge for him.  I am also curious to see how JJ does, I hope his hamstring will be ok.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Agassi might as well pull out.  The potential of Agassi vs Federer in the quarters is not good for either.  They should be on opposite sides...

Yeah, too bad they are not...

Hewitt draws Clement in the first round...  Clement just took him 3 sets the other day didn't he?
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Bad draw for Clement as well.  This is his 3rd tournament this year that he has to play Hewitt in the first round, unreal!

Ferrero and Coria have both abandoned their Prince rackets.  They're playing with Head now.  Nalbandian's playing with Yonex.  Everybody's getting rid of their Prince Graphite thingees.

I swear, I'm going to the Aussie Open next year.  Gotta start saving some money.

Are there any players in the draw who you want to lose in the first round?

That is a lot of racquet switching, why is everyone abandoning the Prince?

Someone I want to see lose in the first round?  Mauresmo maybe.  Besides that, none that I can think of.

I'd love for Kiefer to lose early (can't stand him). On the women's side, I'd be amused if Sharapova, Davenport, or Mauresmo lost in the first round.

Davenport is my girl!! :shiny: I want her to win it so that (as much as I'd hate for her to do it) she can step away from the game in on top and on a win.

Oh I like Davenport, but as I said in the other thread, there's something in me that loves it when the favorites lose early.

Davenport is the #1 seed, but I have a feeling she is far from THE favorite, but she definetly is A favorite.  Since this is very well likely her last AO (not that I read that, I am just guessing) I would like to see her win it again.

Federer spanked Santoro out there today.  Santoro was completely clueless and Federer was (as usual) completely brilliant.
