AO 2005 - Men's Draw

If Hewitt gets through this next match, you've gotta think he's going to be incredibly pumped up.  I mean even for Hewitt.  If he can just get over that hump he's going to be psyched, even more fiery than he usually is.  I'd imagine he'll become a different player.

If he beats Nadal, he may very well find himself in the finals.  He will have to dispatch of Safin though too, but I do not think that is out of the question for him.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

I believe that the pressure of winning at home will be too much.  That, plus the fact that he has never even made the quarter finals in this tourney makes me believe that he is due to lose...maybe to Nadal.

I think Nadal will test him all the way tonight.  I still cannot believe they will not televise that live, I was ready for a late night.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

I wish I could have watched this one.  Interesting stats.

Hewitt had 18 aces to Nadal's 5, 62 winners to Nadal's 49.

Total points won:  Hewitt 154, Nadal 152

I think Coria's going to win in 4 sets.  I give a slight edge to Hewitt over Coria.  Yeah.

I bet Hewitt won the all important number of times screaming "COME ON" stat.

lol, yeah, let's see those on the stats.  :)

I wish I could of seen this match too.  5 setter, sweet.  Both of those guys are in such good shape that I doubt it would phase either of them.

Coria however, is going to keep Heiwtt running some more.  I think Hewitt can easily take care of business aganst Coria.  Congrats to Hewitt to making it to the quarters of the AO.

Roddick beat some no name, big friggin deal.

But the big match is tonight, if they do not show this one on tv I might have to start WW 3.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

You know that thing where Hewitt points at his eyes?  I saw J Johannson do that, too.  Anybody know the story behind that move?
Homeboy is looking strong!  But they said he was having hip problems, so despite his supreme fitness it looks like Hewitt may be having physical problems the remainder of this tournament.

Roddick's opponent has a fantastic looking backhand, but, yeah, he basically overachieved this tournament.  As good as his backhand is, his game on whole is pretty unremarkable.  Not enough power.  He's scrappy.

No, I sort of had an idea of what the implication might be, but I was wondering if Hewitt is the first person that's ever done that or what?  Did I once hear that it originated in Sweden???

Nalbandian is up two sets to love against Coria.  Another crappy prediction from yours truly.

Nalbandian just won a few minutes ago, 5-7 7-5 6-3 6-0, after two in the morning.  Let's hope he has enough rest before he faces Hewitt Wednesday night.

It's 2-0 to Hewitt.  One of these was the Wimbledon final in 2002.  I would be surprised if Nalbandian won this, but you never know.  Tough semi for Roddick, either way.

Davydenko.  Probably will get through ok, although Kolya is doing quite well, having taken out Henman and Canas, fortunately for Roddick.

I'm predicting a Nalbandian Vs Roddick semi: Hewitt has had some long matches and is struggling with a hip problem. Nalbandian has more powerful groundies than Hewitt and, although you can point out the Wimbledon finall, Nalbandian is much better now than he was then and he was hampered by nerves that day.
