Interesting day at the club. It was an open house day and so it was a free for all. I hit some balls with one dude and then with wifey in some mixed dubs. I took it super duper easy on them and I don't think we dropped a game.
The club was packed today. They had a "1 Point Tourney" which I avoided because I did not want to lose one point to some 2.5 player and be sent home packing. I was pulled in last minute though when someone could not fill their spot in the first round. So 5 rounds later I won it. They just tossed a coin and that decided who served. Play one point and advance if you win it. Weird. Heaven forbid you have to hit a second serve.
Then they had a "Fastest Serve Contest". Players will killing serves and they were only in the 90s which was weird. I was almost last so I saw a ton of players try, some pretty big dudes too. When it got to me the fastest serve that had been hit in was 99 mph. The fastest attempt was 110 but that guy hit the back mat with his serve. I ended up getting a 102 mph serve in and won that contest too.
In the end I won both contests they had and got 2 free hours of court time at the club, I will gladly take that!
