Played Wed and last night. 2 good days of tennis. I started out way rough Wed hitting about 10 balls into the net in the first 3 games and we got down 0-3 because of it. I found the right stuff though and MC and I pulled it out against OSU and VC 7-5, 6-2. MC and I have been playing really well together lately. We also won a USTA match Sunday 3-6, 6-2, 10-5.
Played last night against with Jamesdster and 2 others who were much weaker. It was the league where we play 35 minutes which each person so I got to play against Jamesdster twice which is the only reason it was fun. Jamesdster did not seem too amused though with the quality of tennis the other 2 brought us down to. He seemed pretty uninterested for most of it. I of course see Jamedster on the other side of the court and I go for blood. I held back on the big serves on the weakest dude, but other than that I played my regular game. Although I never feel too bad about playing chip and charge, it's not like I am hitting the ball so hard no one has a chance.
Last night I think I had: 7-4, 9-1 (That was Jamesdster and I) and 7-3.
It was torture. I admire you for playing "like you mean it" in that environment. I just wanted the 2 hrs to be over. That plus the fact that I am probably closer to 4.0 now than 4.5 is really really weighing on me. I don't know of anyone who's game has fallen farther than mine in the past couple of years. And then again I don't know anyone who's game has improved as much as yours in the same span.
Well, I have no "medium" pace, so it typically is all or nothing for me. But when I see someone like you on the other side I get fired up all the more.
Your game, by the way, is perfectly fine. You have not been playing enough big boy matches yet, but when you do, you will realize you are playing fine. You keep working on that leg and let it gain it's flexibility back, keep hitting to keep your timing, and BOOM! It will all snap back in place. I would also assume for now that your shoulder is toast, if it ever comes back to normal then bonus! If not, who cares. The rest of your game is solid enough to cover it. Less cheap points, but you will make up for that. Plus, just the fact that you are a lefty and can still spin the ball in is a big plus, keeps your serve from being attackable. I would play any tournament or big match with you any day of the week. You always bring your game to the next level when it matters. You just have not played any of those kinds of matches lately. Plus, let us not forget that you had a chunk of time off for injuries in the last 6 months (You can blame me for some of that).
