Well, last night did not go too well for my partner and I. We both played sub par. We had some really fun doubles points, but we had some frustrating one too. We started out strong but just did not capitalize. We should have jumped ahead 4-0 in the first set but my partner missed an easy put away to go up 3-0 and then he double faulted away a game we had our ad on to go up 4-0, so that made it 2-2. I then personally wrapped up the end of the first set in a nice pretty pink package with a little red bow on top and handed it right over as I got broke to lose set 4-6.
After that it just got worse. We had our chances again but there were not as many. We got blown out of the second set 2-6.
I almost died last night though. I was at the net and my partner hit a serve to the deuce side guys forehand. He ripped a forehand as hard as I have ever seen anyone hit a ball. I kid you not, this guy hit the ball every bit as hard as a pro unloads on a shot. It was aimed right at my head. I played a little dodge ball, there was no chance for me to get my racquet on it. It was in my face before I knew it. I Matrix-style arched my back and swirved out of the way, barely. They ball then lands in and we lose the point. If that thing would of hit me I would of been in big trouble. Welcome to Men's Doubles.
