I just got done playing some USTA with the always famous VIC. We won 6-2, 7-5. We played guys we had both beaten before, but they are still tough. The only two games we lost in the first set were games we got broken on serve. Shame on us.

The second set was tight. We were up 4-3 and serving but my partner hit a few double faults and we got broken again. We got to 5-5 and broke with a vengence and then served it out. The point that set up match point was a vicious point. I had to keep hitting volleys, closing the net and they were picking up some mad volleys. I just kept closing and smacking down volleys. I finally got one between them. Felt gooooooooooood.

Randy probably got home past 10:00 last night and usually enters them the next day at work. They should be recorded soon enough yo, soon enough.

As usual, we had to default both singles courts since we do not have enough players. Such would be nice to add another lefty to the team...

Played USTA again last night. My partner and I tore it up 6-1, 6-1. One of our opponent's was a 4.0 player and I think his partner was not happy to be stuck with him. But we played well, very well. No complaints, looking forward to next weekend.

Played USTA again tonight. My partner and I continued our good tennis for a 6-4, 6-1 win. It was a tough match but we made so few errors. I had to play a guy who use to captain our USTA league and has since moved to another USTA team. He played doubles with a guy I have never beat in singles but I have now beaten twice this season in doubles.

My partners returns and volleys are just plain sick.

Sounds like a great win - I like those that are very competitive when I come out on top. What does "just plain sick" mean?

I never reported on my last match which was a few days ago. I subbed in a 4.5 league, they were all guys from my 4.5 league so it was a nice good match. I partnered up with OSUBuckeye. We ended up winning 6-2, 6-4. We played pretty well. I volleyed well and returned very well. OSUBuckeye returned, as always, very well and he served well too. I do not think he got broke at all. I ended up getting broke once each set. We were down a break in the start of the second but once we got down 1-3 we went on a rampage. Fun stuff.

There is no USTA tonight, we have a break for today. I am kinda bummed because I am ready to fire it up again. We are getting together as a league tonight and practicing and probably playing some sets. Should be fun.

Just got off of the practice court with my league-mates. I am too wound up to go to bed, always happens when I play late. I think I was on the court until about 10:15 PM.

We just played a few sets of doubles. We had 8 guys so we played a set and then switched. Winners vs winner and so on. We won our first set so we moved on. I had to face the fearless Jeffro in the first set, not sure how I got out of that one alive. Could of been because my partner is a returning machine. Just imagine a guy swinging as hard as he can at a return and it going in every time. Scary thing is, that is what he always does. Sets me up as the net man to pick off all kinds of goodies.

We started the second set. I started out with 3 straight aces. I haven't done that in a long time. We won that set 6-4, hit for another few minutes and then they finally kicked us out of the club. They close at 10:00, we always push our luck until they say something. We can usually squeeze an extra 15 minutes out of it. We are just tennis junkies.

Nice on those ACES - I look forward to the day that I can say - more then 1 ACE in a row. I will get there. BTW - there is a 12 step program to help with your addicition LOL

Only 12 steps? Count me in!

I played again today after not playing for 6 days. I did OK, I missed a good handful of shots I shouldn't have. But we were playing against a 4.5 and a 4.0. My partner was a 4.0 as well. I do not focus in those matches as much as I should. I was just happy to be out there and get some practice before tomorrow's USTA match. We still won. 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

I remember 2 years ago playing indoors. Started with 1 ace, then 1 service winner, then a double-fault, then 2 service-winners. hit some aces on match points too, those are always nice.

lol, I have been secretly watching Jamesdster play tennis and I have been taking notes... I did not the snot out of the ball on that shot. Felt good, that was the first forehand I hit in the match too. I got a lot of backhand serves after that.

I vollied the worst I have in years that night, but I still won. I could only imagine the crap I would have gotten from my league-mates (they were watching) had I lost on that court. Those guys are nice guys though, I would hit with them anytime.

I played last night and Saturday night. My volleys are smoking again, so last Wed was no big deal. I played really well last night. VIC and I tore it up. It was just league practice though, nothing that counted. We do play next week though against Olympic I believe. I feel sorry for them, we are going to tera them up.

I hit half volleys like my middle name was Jeffro yesterday. I sware only Sampras could hit better half volleys. I suprised myself with several of them. I stayed down low and punched them back low and deep every time. I didn't think I had any business even gettign them over the net, the returns were fierce. Gotta get lucky sometime right?

The Notorius VIC and I tore it up again tonight. We won 6-4, 6-3. The last set should have been 6-2, but that is another story.

VIC hit some amazing defensive volleys tonight. The opponents were all on top of the net just laying down nasty volleys and VIC was scooping it all up from just inside the service line putting right back in their face. Several times he did it more than once in the same point. I hit some really good defensive volleys as well. Nothing as impressive as what VIC did tonight, but I was still solid all over. Felt good. We did nothign wrong tonight, played solid, played smart and played well. Another notch in the bed post.
