It's more of a 'high & tight' than a 'hawk'.
I like the low maintenance aspect of it.
Other than that, I'd let it all grow out again and look like a mountain man.

No, that's not gonna come for a while actually. I have to save up to buy a new racquet as well as restringing my old one. Then I have to renew my membership to USTA. and then I actually have to get my butt back into tennis shape... I'm fit, just not tennis fit.

Although a USTA membership would be nice, it's not a necessity as far as getting your game back, unless of course you want to play USTA tourneys.  I went 5 years until this fall without a USTA membership and my game didn't suffer, mainly because I played a lot of good players.  But yes, you need to have a good racket, or at least one you feel comfy with.

It is also not a sport that is easy to get good at quickly.

Couple of reasons:
-That's because golf isn't an athletic sport and so the old rich CEO's can still do it... and they're the one's sponsoring golf.
-Tennis is too intense for them
-Golf has tiger woods to expand it's appeal. Sure tennis has the williams sisters... but they're women. I'm not sexist, but that's really the reason why. If it were the williams brothers, tennis would be even more popular. Most little boys have only men that they look up too. Most little girls don't really care if it's a boy or a girl. It's like my sister likes mia hamm and cristiano ronaldo... but you wont find a male soccer player out there who looks up to mia hamm. facts of life.
