Okay, so today was just a horrible doubles experience. My partner lost us the match. IN the first set, we were down 0-5 on set point and I was able to return winner after winner to give us that break. My service game after that was amazing and we were at 2-5 on the verge of a strong comeback. My partner gave away set point. ANyways, in the second, we jumped out to a 4-0 lead! but then, guess what... my partner started hitting retarded shots and we ended up losing the match w/ 4-6 in the second. I was so mad.

Anyways, today we went up against Delenad high school (tennisstar's high school) but my coach, for some reason, decided to put our #7 player at #1, suspended our #1 player, and made people ranked lower than me play while I sat out. We all hate him. He isn't even a coach. We're all trying to get him fired so that we don't have him next week. It was so gay! We could have won the matchup if the bastard would have stuck to the main seeds, but nooooo.... I'm so mad.

But, I still got to hit one-on-one with the #1 guy and that really gave me an idea of how well I'd do against top players. I noticed a few things about my game. one thing is that I tend to bring my racquet back too late on my forehand and that was the main reason why it was retarded for all these weeks... and also why my backhand was soo much better than it...

I had a feeling that was the case having just seen that you changed what defeat you hate the most At least it appers it was your partner and not yourself playing bad. Just concentrate on the singles and then you can only blame yourself.

When you hit with the better players they tend to bring out some of the bad points in your game, like bringing the racquet back a little late.  When I hit with big hitters it is key for me to bring the racquet back very early.

We were up a break and of course my partner couldn't hold serve to save his life. My serve was really on today though. I think that I might have double faulted just once maybe. I swear I friggin hate doubles....

Anyways, I jus wanted to take the moment and say how much muscle I've gained since January. I mean, my clothes don't even fit me the same way they used to, I have a hard time just scratching my back, and I'm hurting people on accident by bumping into them. it's kinda scary, but I'm glad. It adds to my intimidating pressence on the court. I'm a little scared of getting a hernia or something b/c of the way I try to destroy the ball... all I need to work on now is my footwork.

okay, so I'm in a mini doubles tournament w/ my partner and we actually won. The rules are: first to 3 up by two. one set. So we got through to the finals; our semifinal score was 3-0. In the finals, we're 1-2 on serve (my partner). Hopefully, for the love of God, he'll hold serve tomorrow b/c I refuse to lose. REFUSE!!! Anyways, the singles tournaments are starting soon so I'm just waiting for my chance to dominate.  

oh  how sweet it is. I'm extremely soar though with all the tennis I've been playing but it's paying off. My serve consistancy has improved drastically. I didn't double fault all day. Right now, I'm just working on speed/power, and then after that, my placement. I can't lose tomorrow...

I'm playing way too much tennis and it's really putting a toll on my body. Just walking up stairs feels like a mile run. Today, I was hitting and it hurt so much and I just couldn't do anything at all. My legs feel like jelly, my elbow feels like it's gonna explode and my wrist is about to snap in two. aaarg. I can't take it. It burns us!!!! It burns us!!! our precious tennis....

no, but don't understand. I play at least once a day in intervals of 1.5 hours. Most of the time though, I have to play twice; once in the morning and once in the evening...

no, but don't understand. I play at least once a day in intervals of 1.5 hours. Most of the time though, I have to play twice; once in the morning and once in the evening...

Actually, WB, it could be that you have a virus of some kind but, because of your good physical condition, it's not taking its "normal" toll on you. I think you should also consider the fact, particularly since you're in Florida, that you may be somewhat dehydrated. I know you think you've probably had plenty of water/fluids but somedays you need to hydrate more than others. Just some thoughts. Say, "Yes, Mother."

I played today and it was pretty gay. We're having a round robin tournament (2 pools) first to 8 up by two. In my match I was playing pretty bad at first and fell down 0-2. Then I kinda got used to my opponent's game and noticing a few weak points. I started moving him around the court b/c he seems to have a hard time moving. I was able to break back and bring it to 4-4. But then, of course, I got injured (it's funny b/c it was exactly this time last year the same thing happened when I was at that exact score). I was running for a drop shot and I leaned a little too far. I fell forward and tried to stop myself from a faceplant and in the process, I landed w/ my right thumb facing down towards my wrist. I thought it was broken at first, but I still was able to play on. I'm down 4-6 and the match will continue on Monday. I'm glad though b/c it was real bad luck on my behalf. First, I forgot my tennis shoes so I had to play in my suede casual ones. And then all those errors.... Keep in mind that this player shouldn't even be getting games off me. It's pretty discouraging but at least I have time to reevaluate my approach at defeating him. I should win though....

The first sentence just says it all- just made me laugh. Hope the injury isn't too bad for you and lets hope it won't affect your game. Sounds like it was pretty good that you were able to get off court and continue on Monday. You've got plenty of chance now to regroup, look at what you did wrong and try to improve on that and look at how you will be able to exploit your opponents weaknesses. Have a good think about how it went today and look at what needs to be done differently and keep believing in yourself at all times. Good luck on Monday for the remainder of the match.

lol. And I didn't realize how serious it was until I tried opening my locker and I couldn't even turn the dial. I had a trainer check it out and she said that I sprained the joints in my thumb. Pretty much all I have to do is ice it but I don't really have time to do that. It'll heal on it's own....

I think we are all heading for that, what with hearing about Wilsons injury and I have always had injury problems but seem to have the ability to keep going and just live with the pain. If I get another 25 years playing sport I'd be the happiest person on the planet.

Crapola yo!  Is it swollen?  I would ice it if the trainer said to.  I know you are short on time, but you are short on games too, 4-6, and you need to be 100% by Monday.
