I had a Rodney Dangerfield moment today. I came home from winning a major title

and walked into the house all big and bad and the conversation went something like this:

Jamesdster: "hi wifedster. look at this impressive trophy. I am great."
wifedster: "put that into a box in the basement with the other worthless trophies and get to mowing the lawn."

SAY WHAT??!! I have a hard time imagining Rog coming home after winning Wimbeldon and Mirka telling him that.

I get no respect.

Trophy? What trophy? All I got was a t-shirt. And, it is "Big Sexy" not Big Ugly! Get it right!

That was very solid play and proved to be quite fun. The hot dogs were good as well! How many did you throw down?

I think I had 3 dogs a day for 3 days, so......9. Not to mention the oreos, pretzels, chips, pops, and bottled water....all for the $10 entry fee.....what a deal

I have my annual medical check-up on Thursday and am on a crash low-fat, low cholesterol, no booze diet until then

. After that, I hit the bad stuff big time for a few days.

Anyway, you guys did great and deserve to celebrate.

Just back from the check-up
Blood pressure a bit high but he didn't seem very concerned. It must be a consequence of watching all those FO matches.

Having given them the sample of my "body fluids

" I went off for a "full English breakfast".

If your main problem is a little high bp, I'd say your in perty good shape.

I gave blood too

, but not for a noble cause. It wasn't much, only what was necessary to get me out of there

Weather very iffy over here. I'm hoping for a hit with the instructor tomorrow morning but it is the sort of weather that one only knows about as it happens.

Rick Z led me 6-4 5-5 when the heaven's opened up. I'm ALMOST there. I am just a hair away from getting my boy the way I used to

. Actually we were pretty much 50/50 back then (10 yrs ago) or maybe 60/40 him, but we played every Sunday from Sept to May (for many years), so that's what....about 36 matches a year, so I'll say 20-16 him (times X years), how's that for a guess.

I finally found my outdoor serve. But I DID lose it after being up 40-15 and 4-5

. NOT GOOD to do that! The other negative....I never broke him although I had several breakers. So, we played 20 games with one break. If I don't have a little bit of a letdown there I may have won. And that's the thing when you play guys this good, you can not let up for a SECOND! But we had many outstanding points so I am happy about that. Not to mention that I gave blood only a few hours prior to playing. I was a little “shaky” at first but actually felt better the longer I played. Rick told me at the start that we can quit any time you want and I would’ve taken him up on it as my “trying to impress people days” are long gone. But I felt ok.

Neck feels 90% better. I hope to not feel it by tomorrow. Lower abdominal strain feels normal again. Still aches at night when I sleep but not restricting on my movement or stretching.
