..and in other news, the Loch Ness monster and Bigfoot were captured, the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant were located, the planets aligned, and I was spotted on a tennis court yesterday. I played 3 sets of doubles (on clay). The paw is still sore but I made it through, though singles is not in my foreseeable future. Afterwards, I had a nice date with the icebag.

I PRACTICED last night. This is not a typo. As of last night I had 10 days to get tournament-ready for my mixed doubles tournament so I got out on the court with the myth, the legend, the one and only …..Jeffro. I tried to ignore my assortment of aches and pains and think I'll be ok as long as I don’t have to play any serious singles. I should be able to hop around and cover half a court. I also may be playing in the open division of doubles with one of Scott’s and Jeffro's teammates. As a hint Scott, if we can’t win in tennis, I bet we could kick some serious butt in basketball. I’m 6’4 and look up at him. It depends on my little boy’s little league baseball schedule as to whether I’ll be able to enter another event or not. So, it's time to get ready for an actual tournament. I played all of 1 tournament last summer so I could double that next weekend.

Yep, it's Randy. That's IF IF IF IF I can pull it off with the busy schedule. I won't see the little league schedule till this weekend then I'll be able to make a decision. I'm playing mixed for sure. Did I hear that you and John L are playing together?

Got it. Yeah, Lester and I played it last year I think (mayeb the previous year) so we will make a run at it. We won one round last year and got beat in the next round. I played great that day. (2) 4.5 players would of won, John admittingly did not play well that day. Him and I do well together on the Thursday and Sat leagues, so we will keep giving it a shot. If we run into you to it will be a disaster for us.

Got to the semis of men's open dubs and got kilt.

Got to the finals of the mixed and got kilt again (the same dude was in both)..he is my daddy.

I don't have anything to report really other than I ACTUALLY HIT SOME BALLS FOR AN HOUR last night (with the legend that IS Jeffro)! I have played very little in the last 4 months due to this damn plantar fascii thing in the heel but yesterday was the best it has felt since March! Keep your fingers crossed for me. It is July and I have played all of 1 tournament due to it.

Have you tried a night splint (sorry, it's nothing fun or pervy) or orthotics for your PF?

Just lots of stretching and physical therapy exercises I remember from before.

The night splint keeps your Achilles stretched at night which is when you tend to have the most "contraction" on that particular tendon, depending, of course, upon what position you sleep in. It is used in conjunction, of course, with regular rehab/exercises during the day. If it's really bothering you, it's something you should consider.

It was painful, but I'm taking some new meds so maybe they'll help (no promises, though).
