Don't really want to post this but walked into the club tonight to find out i was playing my good friend Chuck Mac.  Chuck is 70.  However , let me qualify this by stating that Chuck is "ranked" in the 65s and is better shape than any 70 yr old i know.  Also, Chuck beats lots of guys half his age. I basically just batted the ball back and forth with Chuck and never went for anything big.  I "won" 6-4  and never really exerted any energy.  Chuck does have a serious inside out forehand for a 70 yr old.   Another wasted Monday evening.   ||-|

I hate to rag on the Borough, but these sorts of statements make me feel like I'm right in saying that the Borough is not a good place to be for adult tennis, especially at our level.  Yeah I know I'm a traitor for joining the evil Tree, but this (along with the drive, which is especially bad at rush hour) makes me think I made the right choice.  One good thing that can be said for the Borough, though, is that they have a nice cheap USTA-only membership, so I can keep playing USTA there :)
Good luck on the court is nice to have, but it's usually extraneous when playing against Baker.

Our club has more (2) 4.5 teams than any other local club so by that you would think we have good depth at our level but many of these guys don't play in other through-the-week leagues.   Which gives me a chance to rip people like you and Scooter for never joining a league with the rest of us.   :-o

I certainly figured to catch some flack for my statements, so I wouldn't have made them without some facts to back them up.  Yup, the Borough has (2) 4.5 teams, but each have a roster skinnier than Myskina.  So the number of teams is somewhat misleading.  And as you say, most of the guys on those teams don't play in leagues throughout the week.  Additionally, some of the guys on those teams, with due respect, aren't the strongest of players.  Anyway, since I can only control 1 of those people (myself), I know that I can't make much difference there.  So rip away, but facts are facts, and if you're serious about wanting to face tough competition week in and week out, the choice is clear.

All fair!   I am of course just saying that it kinda sucks that for whatever reasons/excuses we don't even have all the guys involved like you and Scott and some others!   But, I suppose, this discussion brings up an issue.........that we need to play some against better competition!   That can be discussed at greater length later!

No question it is a serious bummer!  I was psyched at the idea of maybe moving to the Tree, as we'd discussed last fall.  Though that's a serious move that requires everyone's approval, understandably difficult to execute.  So I guess I just sorta did it on my own :)

Anyway, one thing that *does* provide some tough competition is the summer GCTA league.  We'll have our hands full with that.  I for one am looking forward to seeing Scooter play some court 1 on clay!  Though if this past weekend is any indication, he may want to preorder a couple more sticks just in case he oversees another, uh, collision between his racquet and the surface below his feet.

Speaking of, is the Dster going to play GCTA with us this year???????   :-o

I wasn't talking about the move to the Tree, I was talking about getting you guys involved on the Wednesday night thing at our club.  About the possible move to the Tree, I don't think to many people like change anyway let alone if it costs more and has a longer drive involved!

GCTA is sweet and I hope JD is leaning towards playing with us on our team!

Unfortunately (or maybe it is for the better), Scott won't even see your burn on him since he doesn't visit his tennis site anymore!?

Some answers are starting to roll in from all my tests.  Apparently I have a condition called 'atrial fibrillation and atrial flutters'.  So I have to have a procedure done on 5/25 called an electrophysiology study (EP Study).  As of 5/25 it looks like I will finally know everything that's wrong and then I can start treatment (medicine or maybe a procedure called an ablation which could be done during the EP Study). An ablation basically zaps dead tissue in the heart and causes it to resume regular rhythms instead of all this irregualr crap that's going on.

So, looks like this is you then:  Paroxysmal A Fib!

Good thing yours disappear quickly cause that would suck if they lasted for hours or more!

I guess Scottie's off the hook now huh?   :))

He is never off the hook!   I am sure he is the reason for all my ailments!   :)~
