That was the first time I have been on the ct w/ Mikey in FOREVER.  I had almost forgotten what a big serve and fh he has.

Signed up for a clay ct MONEY doubles (45s) tourney this weekend.  What was I thinking?     I saw freebird's name in the 35 singles.

Put in a little practice gearing up for the tourney.  PLayed with DC against Mark M - Chuck.  We were down 6-4 3-3 when we quit.  This helped rid a few cob webs and should really help come tomorrow.  Foot is the same; no better...no worse. 

6-4 3-3 after 2 hours????  Let's seeeeeeee.  Everyone mosies down to the court around 8:15 (sposed to start at 8).  Warm up for a day and a half....talk for 5 minutes on changeovers.....damn...LET'S PLAY!

played the #2 seeds in a 4 team draw and won 6-4 4-6 6-4.  I played awful.  Tomorrow we play the #1 seeds for the championship.  The 2 best teams played each other in the other half of the draw so we'll have to play great just to be in this one.  In the other clay ct tourney I played this summer, I also played terrible in the first match that time also but got better each match.  Clay takes some getting used to for me.

In today's chapionship match, we were serving at 5-3 30-30 and lost 7-6 6-0.  At 5-3 we were playing insanely great points and winning a darn lot of them.  Then the wheels came off and we couldn't put them back on.  The one guy (Phil) is 5.0-5.5, his partner is 4.5 -5.0.  But it feels good to be getting back real into competition for the first time in 2 decades.  First, the WV Open in July and now this.  I hope to build on this next year, if I can only get healthy.

From your brief description, it sounds like yous guys came out of the gate at a full gallup and weren't able to hold the momentum or recover.

Nice to see your feeling well enough to hit the courts for some serious competition!

VIC and I lost to Phil and his son (a 4.5 player then, better now) 6-4, 6-4 about 2 years ago int he finals of a tennis tourney.  They invited us out a week later to their house for more tennis.  We split sets 6-7, 7-6.  Super nice guys!

Yeah, that is pretty unusual in the tennis community for a guy that good to be so nice.  I wish there was more of that around.
