That's some good results. I don't care if Phil was playing with a 3 year old, to win that many games against him is impressive.

Played my main man jeffro last night in singles action for the first time in forever. We practice together all the time but rarely play sets. It was a slugfest for certain. We were both belting shots from everywhere. It was humid as all get out in the building and at the end we looked like drowned rats. First set went to the good guy 7-6 with 1 break each. It took 65 bleeping minutes to play. j-ro was up 2-1 in set 2 when due to time limitations (we both needed to be done at 1:45 mark last night due to other obligations) we decided that if I hold we will play a tb. Well, the fool breaks me to go up 3-1 and claim the 2nd set

So we play a 12 pt breaker to decide it and I smoked the fool like the dog he is

. Jeffro's game is sooooooooooooo much better than it was oh a few yrs ago. Jeffro, Scott, and Randy are playuhs fer sure now!

The final score was 7-6 1-3 and 1-0 (7-2)

Yep, that was fun and a great workout. I'm really inconsistent off the ground on both sides, but that will come with playing more singles, I haven't really played singles on a regular basis in several years. Not used to hitting that many balls.

Aw man, you didn't miss much and you were hitting your usual allotment of winners and highlight reel shots for sure.

Jeffro is playing as well as I have ever seen him play in both singles and dubs. He's is playing much smarter, taking pace off when necessary and angling shots.

Played with CR against DC and Jamesdster tonight.

I played pretty badly the last two times out so I was anxious to get out and see how I did. I served far better than the last few times. A few times I still felt like I mis-timed a shot but overall I played pretty darn solid. We squeaked out the win 6-2, 7-6 (3). We had to save 3 set points on CR's serve at 5-6. We got lucky to win that set!

Yes you did play solid! Your game looked very good to me, but then it has for a while now. I thought I played ok or maybe even or even a little better than ok, especially for coming back from the flu. Last night will be a big help for me come Sunday's 4.5 match. Thanks for playing.

Anytime yo! You started slow, but in the second set you started returning very well. I could not poach your return even if I wanted to. Too fast and way to far away from me. You were holding down your side of things very nicely...

I have been limping thru life with metatarsalgia since june.....get fitted for orthotics next Tues....mri said no stress fracture...been playing a lot thru the pain as the doc said i can't damage it by playing, as long as i can endure the pain...even been playing some bigtime tourneys altho i am quite rusty,,,,currently ranked #1 in 45 dubs in the 45's in the midwest region....5 states make up the midwest-----wisc, ind, oh, mich and wv

Thanks for the update Big J! The orthodontics have helped me a ton although my issue is not as severe and is slightly different. I hope they make a huge difference for you. Every time I beat the guy ranked #1 in the 45 dubs I want no excuses!

Limping through life here too most of the time but not now as the weather and other things have kept me off the courts since before Christmas.

Get well for the summer. I just sent in the deposit for Cincy today. August 7-22, it seems.

Rumor has it that the Midwest 45 dubs has 1 more team than the NorthEast region for a total of 2.

It took alot to drag this thread all the way back up, but I did it. Even passed my own journal entry on the way!

Do you have a diagnosis for the shoulder?
Have you tried regular icing after play and some form of rehab/strengthening?

I need to get back to the rotator cuff exercises I was doing]. It is a little better. I can spin some serves in at about 50% but can't lay the hammer down on the flat one.]Signed your Pal
