Jeffro and I lost 6-4 6-7 6-2 in the final :crying:

Our serves deserted us in the 3rd set.  We could've / should've won the first set but you know how that goes.  It was fun.

Jeffro can me the skinny yesterday.  He said that JR played very well.  He was solid in our match too, but EI played better that day.

JR won the match for them with his play.  We kept Eric under wraps (with a little help from Eric) who actually missed a lot more than he usually does.  So, having said that, you would have thunk we woulda won.  But no, JR plays the most solid tennis I have ever seen from him.  One game I swear we had 10 break points and he saved every one and eventually held.  He was da man!

Tough match!  Did you guys have any success lobbing over JR?  That is definitely one thing I like to do so he can't just groove on the groundstrokes.

We were mixing in a lot of lobs, and they were good lobs and he was killing them.  He must’ve hit 10 overheads for winners before he finally missed one.  It was one of those matches where it seemed that they wore the lines out on our side and got every let cord to drop on our side and we never got 1 in return.  I know I’m probably exaggerating but it sure felt that way.  But they won fair and square.  If Jason plays “normal” and the breaks even out, we win 3 & 3.  I know..wah wah wah   :whistle:

Well congrats to Jason for having one of those matches, and to you and jeffro for the final!  I heard no mention of major pains so does that mean the parts were all feeling pretty good?

Into the doubles semis (Open division....I included that cuz I'm a geezer) of a local tourney to be played tomorrow.  My doubles partner is seeded #1 in singles.  Can I pick a partner or what?  Actually he is a much better singles player than dubs as he is a great baseliner who doesn't miss much from back yonder. Obviously dubs is a different animal.

Won by default in semis.  We were to play a COLLEGE doubles team and the time was moved from today until tomorrow meaning the winner had to play TWO whole matches IN ONE DAY!!!! And the youngins argued that was not fair and defaulted.  UNBELIEVABLE.  2 college tennis players unable to play 2 doubles matches in 1 day???  What a bleeping joke.  Take your crying towel and drive your weak ass on back home.

That was just their excuse. You know it was just because they were terrified to get beat up on by an "old" guy. What's your final looking like? Oh, that was a stupid question! Guess you won't know for sure until tomorrow. Told you my brain was mush.

I ventured back onto a singles ct last night.  Haven't played singles since March due to this stinkin heel.  I don’t expect a call from Patrick McEnroe anytime soon to play for the U.S. in Davis Cup.

I got "the call" to sub last night but the only open spot was in flight 2, against Jim N, a 4.0 player.  I won handily but I pretty much just practiced some things, mainly just stayed back and pushed.  I didn't serve hard and pretty much just tested out the paw, which maybe was at about 60%.
