Fri. - practiced outdoors for about an hour and had no energy and thus didn’t hit real well.

Sat. – 2 hrs of doubles; won 4 & 4 and played a bit better than last Thursday

Sun. - jogged for 30 minutes at the local park.  First time I've jogged in a long time due to the knee but it was a soft dirt path and I went sloooooooooooooooooooow.

Tonight – playing singles for an hour in our league tonight.  I hope to keep building on my singles progression to the point where I feel comfortable on the singles court again.  I really need to get the service return in working order.

The D'Ster pops in a combo fitness/tennis log - I love it!!    How are you feeling today after the jogging?  30 mins is a long time in my book - after a long layoff, it only takes 15-20 min of jogging to give me the serious 3-day-sore muscles.

You get the court from 8 to 9.  After a 15 minute warm up you have 45 minutes.  But if you lead by 2 games when it hits 5 till you automatically win.  SO basically you might have 40 minutes...

That's pretty pathetic. But then we get an hour and a half in our league and w frequently get 2 sets in. But this is doubles so the points are shorter.
Seems to me an early warm up, or a 5 minute warm up is in order. But then you don't want to pull a muscle or hurt yourself.

You are correct young Grasshopper.  But you know when you play the Rocker, he waks in at 8:05 and takes forever to warmup so it's about 8:20 when you start and you have to be done by 8:55......so you get the picture.

Dm - we get 2 hours in dubs, 1 hour in singles.  Ohio puts such great emphasis on singles.  Pathetic...

You guys will appreciate the first experience I had with the Rocker.  Way back in 2000 (I think!), when I was still playing in Cincy, our USTA team went to playoffs, and faced the Scarborough team.  The other courts had tied 2-2, leaving Rocker playing against the youngest guy on our team (who was probably 28 at the time).  Of course everyone was watching from above.  And watching, and watching, and watching.....as the Rocker slow-played to death.  Not that I blame him - our guy was much more athletic and in great shape, and the Rocker was giving up at least 10 years to boot.  But the suspense was just eating us.  And to his credit, Rocker played a great match - our guy won in 3 close sets, but he really earned them.  I'm pretty sure that match took close to 3.5 hrs.

No tennis yesterday as I worked job #1 (primary) from 7:00AM – 5PM then went to job 2 (tennis club) from 5:45 – 10:15 .  My exercise for the day consisted of walks to and from my car, 135 trips to the bathroom (been drinking 100 oz of water daily), and road range rantings which easily burn 500 calories a day.  I also burn many a calorie a day by day dreaming.  I had a nice one about Scott teaching me how to properly string a racket.  Usually any dream which includes Scott is considered a nightmare.

Hey stranger.  Yes, I turned the monitor in last weekend but my follow-up with the doc isn't till end of May.  I was told however that if anything crazy had shown up, I would've rec'd a call.  So now I wait a few weeks and will be told that they don't have a clue.  The ONLY thing I've been told so far is that my blood pressure is borderline high and cholesterol level is barely ok and they want me to go on Lipitor and I so far have refused.  It has been about 6 weeks since my last dizzy spell so if I follow form, I'm good for about 10 more before I get zapped again.  Although there is a chance Scott will be on my court tonight and since he has been on my court 2 of the 4 times..........

Sorry to hear about Gillespie.  I hope your replacement picks up where he left off.
