Update: I was playing in the tournament and I was up 6-0 4-0 and I was serving and I was on a roll. Then at 40-0 I perfectly in serve and the kid calls it out. And I for some stupid reason I burst in anger and I start telling the kid it was in and then the kid calls the ump and I get EJECTED.....

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?????

Age: 13 I know I know Im still pretty young...

Height: 5'5

Weight: 130

Hand: right

backhand: two-handed

strength: defense, speed, power

weaknes: when I play against pushers/short returners they are so annoying..... I always miss the shot.

level: dont know

signature winning shot: blasting a forhand winner down the line.

favorite stroke: forehand

style: aggressive baseliner

serve resemblace: hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I dont really know...

doubles/singles specialist: singles

yo im 14 and have the same problem i hate pushers too im now in the semi finals of a tournament and i suggest the best thing you can do before a tournament is get out on court and play all your weak shots until they get better, dont practise your strong ones cause whats that going to do. You need to work on playing different types of players. Read my journal for more info on mi game and what I do to finish off pushers.

I used to have a problem w/ pushers, but I've found a way to overcome them. When you play a pusher, they generally hit the ball with very little speed and/or pacing. So the best way to look at it is like you are in a match with a hard hitter and they just mis-hit... all the time, so u just pound that mofo. Stay on your toes and don't get lazy or flat-footed just b/c u don't have to move as fast. It's all mental....

they're the players that don't really have a strategy, they just hit the ball high w/ relatively no spin at all... and the ball lands deep. Players usually lose to them due to frustration. They start to get excited overhit, causing errors left and right. You never really lose to a pusher b/c of their winners.

They indeed do everything they can to just get the ball back in the court. They barely ever hit a hard shot and are more than content to just hit it back down the middle. The faster they are the more frustrating it is because they get everything back. I think at the 4.0+ level you should be able to handle the vast majority of pushers pretty easily. There are few in the 4.5+ range.

well i dont think i ever come across a pushe that is more than a 3.5 level due to them just not having good enough range of shots because in the LTA tournaments player 8.2 and above really can not push any futher if they wish to improve beyond that level. (the level plenty on juniors get stuck at why because you can not push the ball back no longer at that level)

Yeah but I think pushers now will never get any better becasue it doesnt work in the 16s or 18s when gthey get stronger and your shot gets stronger...

Oh Snap...... I won the first round 6-2 but coudn't get my serves in and oh m,yt god I was almost gonna lose becasue my opponent started to pounce on my balls and get used to it.... Well I finished him off....

The second round I lost 61 I played horribly and attacked my self when I shoulda ran balls like Nadal....

Well what do you guys think??
