I've decided to play tennis again because, to be totally honest,  I just really want to and my studies are over.

So I played my first match since April (??)

Anyway, I lost 6-3 6-3.

I didn't take this loss seriously. I just need to get back into the swing of things with my forehand and bakchand.  [sorry for the pun].

I did however, manage to save five match points. The guy on the other side of the net started to choke, which is extrneley hard to watch, I might add.  He managed to close it out in the end [when I dumped a bakchand into the net].

Anyway, everythings cool, so I'm happy.

Gosh, I havent played in ages.

Anyway the score was 7-6(11) 6-0.

I'm still not happy with my game.

My serve was rubbish today.

It looks like you broke his spirit in the tie break. If a rubbish serve gets you a 6-0 set then I will take rubbish. I am ready to see you post some scores when you are happy with your game.

Great job.

My backhand was on!!!!!

I hit so many backhand winners: inside out, down the line, cross-court. I even suprised myself.

My forehand was crap. Kept hitting it into the net.

My serve was ok. I kept serving in the 70's [that is ok isn't?]

Anyway I won 6-3 6-3. Now onto the semi-finals tomorrow.

Well I lost in the semi-finals. I thought I'd be a little bit more disappointed but I wasn't. I genuinely smiled at my opponnet at the net and shook his hand.

The scoreline was 6-2 2-6 7-6(9)

I didn't like my game today. I just wanted to get off court because I was so embarrassed at the mistakes I kept making with my forehand during the first set. I think my backhand has improved so much and I kept hitting the ball with my backhand every chance I got during the second and third set.

I don't know what's up with my forehand. I just couldn't keep it in court or get it over the net sometimes. I think I only produced one winner with it.  I'm really lost and clueless on how to fix it.  :|

Only being 2 points from winning the match with a forehand you are not happy with must be somewhat encouraging.  Bummer you lost though.

That's because I lietrally used my backhand for most of the set. Obviously my bakchand isn't that consistent to hold up for every single point. What's alarming is that my opponent didn't realise that my forehand was the weakest part of my game [in this particular match]; he kept hitting the ball to my backhand.

Have you got any ideas on how to "fix" my forehand. Has it got sometihing to do with foot-work.

Are you taking your eye off of the ball?

I am not sure I know enough about your forehand to help.  Hit me with your details again.

make sure that u are turning your body enough on the forehand and make sure ALWAYS make sure that you are bringin the racquet back early.
Be the change that you seek.

Thanks for that I'll try it.

I think I have to bring my racket back early too.

I played in prelims today [for this major tournament next week]

I have to play three matches and if I win them all then I'll definately play in the tournament.

I played my first today and won

6-2 7-6 [15, I think]

The guy was playing unbelievably well in the second set. He had sooo many set points but I really wanted to win in straight sets.

My serve was working today, and my forehand was brilliant. Thanks for the advice Wilsonboy and Tennis4you.

My backhand is definitely my best shot [as my opponnet found out on match point]. I hit a backhand down the line for the win.

It was. It was really tough. The crowd were cheering quite loudly every time my opponent had a set point. I didn't know such a small crowd could cheer so loudily. I'm not saying the crowd were against me, but I think the crowd really wanted to see a third set.

My dad after the match said 'Nice set, Kade".

He's usually stubborn and ALWAYS tells me to improve, even when I win a match, but it was different this time.

I played my second match today and I played absolutely CRAP!

I lost

4-6 6-0 6-2.

URGHH!!!!!!

I kind of had a mental meltdown in that second set.  I made too many mistakes. It was unbelievable. I really think my racket has a mind of it's own. I saved like three match points in the eight game but never had a chance to go 5-3.

Obviously it doesn't help when you play a night match and then play first thing in the morning again. The scheduling sucked!

Second time I got bagelled and the feeling is just as worse.

I play my third match tonight. I hope i do better in that one.    ;-()

How did that 3rd match turn out?

I know that bagle feeling too well. Last season my P and I got double bagled in the first round of the play offs. We were playng Line 1 and our team really thought we would take it.

Anyways I qualified for the tournament and I played my first match of which I won 6-4 6-3.

It was closer than the scoreline suggests. I'm just glad I got through it.

After this, I have one more match and then onto the Quarter-finals.
