I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

Buckeyes now down 3-1.  BK lost at #1 singles, Moneke lost at #2, Kro pulled it out 7-5 in the 3rd at #3.  We took the first sets in both #4 and #5 (Allare and Novak), Uzawa down 1-2 early in the first.

No work on a Friday night?  I did not realize you were working Friday nights.  Regardless, as much as we praise your tennis, you need to rear your ugly mug in here at least once a year and make an appearance!

OVG - Sorry about the loss.  3rd set tbs suck, I would always prefer to play it out.  Hey, you need a journal!
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Buck! How are things rolling with you and the buckies?
Dont fight about tennis, support tennis.

I just didn't think I would be seeing a clay court tournament where Roddick is still in it and Nadal is out.   -   Dallas -  31 May, RG 2009

Well in general I've been playing really well lately, which makes these losses even worse! Returning better than I ever have and that used to be an area of weakness in my game. 2 weeks ago when I lost in a third set tb, I'd thrown up 3 times that morning and tried to get out of playing, so I guess I can give myself a small break on that one....!

Took one for the team eh?   Got sick and still played!    Good on ya.  What weaknesses remain in your game then?

Serve.
Can place it, need much more power. Anybody want to help me with that? Not too bad for dubs, but I'd like to get a couple more freebies. Also the gals I play partnered with unfortunately aren't much help at the net (at least not poaching) so I don't get the odd free one from them helping me either. But I can reliably avoid a returners stronger side, move serve around, etc. I need more power, which I should have because I can hit an overhead decently hard, am athletic and am tall as you know doubt recall.

I say learn a kick serve!  Most women do not hit a kick serve so it will do you justice as a lot of women are not use to playing against one.  :)

I have not seen you play, but I bet you could add a little pop to your serve with a little more knee bend.  Much like a power pitcher, you can generate a lot of power with the lower body.
