Played with Scott last night agasinst Jster and Jeffro outside. The weather was absolutely perfect! It was a good match until 6-4, 6-6, and then Jeffro rolled his ankle in the TB on a heated point. That seriously sux! Very good stuff otherwise!

I guess I get to play Bernie B. tonight in singles. He will clearly not show up as he doesn't want to face me!

You're killin' me! First you throw me in to play against BB and then you are not gonna show which enables CR to likely get a win...........thereby pushing me down a flight!

Played singles last night against Bernie B. and got my lesson. He got me 7-6 (8-6), 6-3. I was absolutely wiped as I gave it everything I had. I am in sad shape. I actually had a set point in the 1st set when he was serving. He got a groundie out wide and I chased it down but my down the line slap shot was a foot or 2 wide.

I really should have gotten myself more break points. He broke me once in the 2cnd set and I didn't break him all night. He is a very solid player so I was happy with my performance but you always want those few points more so the result could have been different.

I was very happy with my 1st and 2cnd serves especially in the 1st set. 2cnd set I got a bit tired so the 1st serve % suffered a bit. Anyway, this is a pretty good competitive level for me in singles.

Sounds familiar!? Sounds like what one could say about my EFFORT against you. Thats not gonna cut it...........I want more!

I ordered 2 new pairs of Wilson shoes 2 days ago and they should arrive Friday. I hope they turn out okay.

I played Wed night with Joe M. against Scott and Dale W. Scott was on fire in the 1st set. Seriously, I don't think JM and I won a single point when I served to Scott for my first 4 to 5 service games. We were lucky to get back in the match by the end of the 2cnd set and win it to force a 3rd set. The 3rd set was much more fun than the other 2. It went back and forth and felt like it could have gone either way but they got it in the end.

Interestingly, I feel more comfortable in singles lately and my focus on the shots has been better in my recent singles matches than dubs. This is kind of odd since I have played dubs almost exclusively for the past 5-10 years and have felt much more comfortable in dubs than in singles in that time period.

He is playing about as much singles and he is dubs. Wait until the dead heat of summer hits him, see how much he loves singles then. Shoot, wait to see how much I like it then. I have a feeling anything over 85 degrees will induce a heart attack for me, I am outta shape!

Who has created a monster? Did You give me lessons that I forgot about? That is the weird thing for me, I don't feel that I did anything to become better at singles either. Past seasons I played VERY mediocre singles and this season I have played much smarter and more solid. Mostly, it is confidence and some semblance of game plans. Singles just makes more sense and feels more natural to me now than it ever has.

Yeah, Summer is always brutal for me. My ability to fight out some long tough points will greatly suffer in the brutal heat. I would like to shed some poundage and the best way I can think to do that is to go out in the heat and try to practice and play hard and burn the calories.

I got my 2 new pairs of tennis shoes tonight. I threw a pair on and they feel pretty nice. They are very similar to the recent Wilson model that I have worn for the past 2 or more pairs. These are lighter and feel awfully nice right out of the box. If these perform well on court I expect I will be back to buy about 7 pairs or so.

I think they are Wilson Topspeed. They were cheap at $40. I always buy these $40 ones because they seem to be just as good as any other ones. Plus, this way I don't feel as bad buying 2 pair at a time or even 7 pairs as I have done before.
