Big match tomorrow as Jster and I will likely pair up with our young guns pairing on the other court.  If we can win both courts we will win the team match.  It will likely be HOT with the sun beating down from 11am to around 12:30pm or 1:00pm.  I didn't drink any tonight so I am looking forward to how I handle the heat physically.

Played Sunday with Jster on court 2 and we beat our opponents Mike M. and John C. 6-2, 7-6(4).  Not too much to say, we started tough, fell off a bit, they picked it up also, then we got back right just enough to take it in 2 sets.  Jster says to me at 4-5 in the 2cnd set, "I should have taken ibu's if this thing is gonna go 3 sets".  I said don't worry about that cause we are gonna finish in 2 sets.       Cause thats how we roll!

Played a USTA match with MC last night.  We lost to Dave B. and Andy B. 6-7(8), 4-6.  Not good!

Dave B has given you and I a good match a few times.  Always let us off the hook in the end and gave us the lead.  He has good strokes and can be a bit unorthodox at times making it tricky.  I cannot remember who Andy B is though...

Andy B. slices everything on the BH side and has a whippy FH but nothing spectacular....slightly awkward.  Dave B. can be tough but you are not going to be happy losing to him.  He serves very weak by just getting the ball in play on almost all 1st serves.  We should have never lost to these guys.

Forgot to note that I shot a 47 on the back nine holes in my buddies golf league Monday evening.  The back 9 are tougher so this was a good round for me.  I had pars and bogies on all holes except for 1 dub bogey and one triple bogey.  Take away those 2 holes and it would have been a helluva round.   I was not great off the tees but made some incredible short range pitches.

Played with Scott on Sunday against 2 older guys from Swim + Racket.  We won 7-6, 6-1.  It was a decent little clay match.  They were both very nice so it was fun.

Played the front 9 holes in the mon. golf league at 47.  I was a little let down with this result as I had been improving week to week and I couldn't make a putt outside of 5 feet.  I had at least 4 putts from 5-15 feet and only made 1 of them.  Plus, I blew up on a fairly easy par 3 hole which is not normal for me.  My score should have been better but that leaves room for improvement next week.

Played last night with Scott against AS and AL.  AL was quite nasty.  I think he is a 5.0 player but he has been playing alot of 4.5 matches lately.  I wanted the challenge of playing against them and got it.  It turned out pretty solid at 4-6, 4-6 but we couldn't hold my serve too well.  I made note of a BP that we should have gotten in the 2cnd set in Scott's journal..............that one hurt bad!  Anyway, it was a good experience!  I'd like to get whooped by 5.0's more often.  His serve did prove to be quite difficult to return past the net man.  His motion was as close to Sampras' motion as anyone I can remember playing against.  Smooth, powerful, and hard to read.

And like I mentioned, that was with a sore shoulder and him not hitting hard serves.  nasty!

I am surprised you know him..........I thought he was kind of new on the scene?

He played in that huge $ tourney last Christmas time at Elysium where I was a roving umpire.  He lost early but actually won the backdraw.  In dubs, he and Griffin lost a close one to Schaub - O'Connell.

That is crazy talk!  Those results make him sound even better than 5.0.
