oooooooooooooohhhhhh

One CANNOT stop the "Notorious VIC"; one can only HOPE to contain him.  ://

Well, we were able to hit/play for about an hour before the rain hit and Master Scottie was on early.  He was serving and returning well as was his partner.  Freebird and I came out a little flat and they jumped out to a 5-0 lead.  We were up 40-15 in my first service game and then BAM...a couple of good points later...they break me.  Freebird held and then we broke The Notorious VIC to get back to 5-2.  I started serving my 2cnd service game, lost the 1st point, and the rain started to fall.  s**tE!!!  It would have been fun to continue, but alas, the rematch will have to wait...with a new set! ;-()

new set indeed.  That way when you win it we will not have to say we lost a set after being up 5-0.  :)

Bummer we finally got all of us out there and we got rained on.  We will get out there again.  I still wanna split up you and Freebird to get you guys to face each other as well.  Always fun and somewhat telling to play your partner.  I cannot remember the last time VIC and I played against each other.

Well the rematch is on for tonight!  :thumbs-up:  We shall see what transpires!   :whip:  :whip:   I smell some possible sweet revenge for you guys almost taking a set from us the other night!   :Boxing:

I wanna split it up and play with you.  It has been a while since I played with Vaughn and I know you want a piece of Freebird.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Is master Scottie scared?  Actually, I am down for whatever, but I sense there is a reason you want the switch.  Did you talk to Freebird today?   I smell something fishy!

Nope, haven't talked to anyone.  I have mad confidence with VIC but I thought it would be nice to face him for once.

Well, last Thursday, Freebird and I stomped Scott and Notorious VIC 6-2, 6-2.  They were both very tired and played like it.  Scott has been so busy with work that he is one tired biatch!  I plan to email his boss!  Scott, hook me up with his email.

Saturday, Jeffro, myself, and one of our other teammates hit and drilled.  It was pretty money, I was glad to get out.  I love the drill of 2 people on the baseline and 1 on the other side at net taking volleys.  This drill is sweet for doubles baseline groundstrokes and working on volleys.

Played Sunday with Freebird against The Notorious VIC and another teammate.  They played extremely well with high energy and good serving.  I was generally happy with everything except my serve which is kind of still a work in progress.  I am still not totally comfortable with my kick serve as it doesn't seem to give the returner enough trouble.  I need to have a better percentage on my flat serve to be able to use it in dubs.

Played last night with Scott against The Notorious VIC and another guy who as Scott has said is going to 4.5 Nationals in Hawaii.  Can you imagine going from Ohio to Hawaii to play recreational tennis?  Scott played really well early on and I feel I played my usual -consistent.  I didn't play great but I don't think I played bad either.  I guess I lacked some intensity or something.  After playing a set, Scott and I hit groundies.  I basically hit balls as hard as I could and went for corners, but as you know, Scott ran it all down.  It is fun to hit singles and go for shots since it is a change from my usual of dubs and trying to play aggressive but with super high consistency.  I have been watching the ball better which is paying off by rarely missing shots.  This is my new big thing after watching the pros watch the ball through contact so well.   ;;)   I am off to Europe for a couple of weeks so I will get back to it later.   :uh:

I vacationing bastard!

U did indeed lay into a lot of shots last night.  I tried to keep my shots coming back down the middle until about 2/3 of the way into it.  I know you hate me going for corners.  Which I found kinda funny last night because you were t-ing off of anything mid court.  You hit several winners.  I do not mind practicing my defense at all and you know I like to run.  I figured after about 40 minutes of that though I would start moving you around a little more.  I was pretty inconsistant last night though by that point.  I might have been getting tired.  You looked like you were getting tired too.  Although we both know we wanted to play some more dubs...
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Yeah, I knew you liked to run so I figured it was ok.  I had intentions early on of running alot on anything you gave me but, on the 1 drop shot you hit to your left I ran up to get it and my knee was hurting after that.  From that point, when you gave me something to run on I would feel a tinge of pain in my knee right when I was trying to get going.  Besides, for me I was really trying to watch the ball and stroke it aggressively.  I wasn't really tired as much as I was struggling with wanting to play dubs instead of singles.  In the future we should probably structure our hitting better.  Like, say hit to each other for 15 minutes or so and then after that go ahead and throw down on some serious singles points where anything goes.  Maybe even keep track of points for a tally.

Played 4 or 5 times since returning from Europe.  The first couple were pretty rough but the last 2 times are starting to feel like the confident form.  Starting to return very consistently and anticipating well throughout points.  My dubs partner (Freebird) and I won last night in our first indoor USTA 4.5 match of this season.  The confidence is there and hopefully is building!  We also got the team win so we are off to a good start, 1-0.   :uh:  :)

I witnessed the one, the only, OSUBucknut playing w/ the ever popular VC last night against a formidable duo (not Jeffro and Scott, I said formidable  :)~ ).  Do fills us in w/ details Buckeye.

I used one of Jeffro's N-codes for a few minutes the other night.  It has a nice feel to it from the ground...not sure if I like the way it feels on the serve though....that's my report after a whole 15 minute session with it.
