Last night was really weird.  It felt like we played solid but we lost in 2 sets.  D & M played extremely well and also on the important points.  We played no-ad just like in the Sunday USTA leagues so all the points were more important.  I think they connected on about everything while we were missing shots by the smallest of margins.  In the end, we had quite a few really good points and long points.  Note to self, don't let a few questionable calls get under your skin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only a "few"??  You obviously weren't playing against Jeffro then.  Geez.  Did anyone ever tell him the line is IN?

Played our 2cnd 4.5 USTA league match last night.  We remain undefeated!  We had to default our 2 singles courts but were able to win all 3 dubs courts for the team win!  Freebird and I faced 2 match points against us and then broke our opponents when they were serving at 5-4 in the 2cnd set (we lost the 1st set) to get back into the match.  We won the 2cnd set tie-break, then played 2 games in the 3rd set to go 1-1, and had to play a tie-break for the match due to indoor time constraints.  We cruised in the 3rd set tie-break to seal the team victory.  Master Scottie and the Notorious VIC had just finished up our other remaining court to notch our 2cnd court win.  Freebird played well the whole night but I was not happy with how I played until late in the 2cnd set, when I picked it up!  We put it together and played nasty when it counted most!  Freebird and I have a little streak of winning 8 league matches in a row.   :H  :uh:

The match was OVER when Jeffro walked onto the court.  When your opponents saw that, they were so intimidated that it was all over but the shouting.

I walked past this dream matchup on my way to the gym.  It was OSUBuckeye /Dale vs Jeffro / VIC.  I think it probably went to a 5th set tb.  Then the storm rolled in and we had a tornado warning which caused them to stop and enter the club's "storm cellar" called the fitness center.  Jeffro walked in and scared all the body builders.

I know the Notorious VIC lost the first set.  I got a call, he wanted me to restring a racquet.  He said he couldn't get any shots to land in.  Not sure why he didn't just use the other racquet I had strung for him in the first place.  Why use another string job?  Geesh!

I'm gonna have to get you to watch me string on my Klippermate one time so you can give me some pointers.  I set the tension to around 63 pounds but I bet you that when I'm done, it may be 53 one time and 63 the next.  I think maybe my old clamps are slipping a little and losing tension because of that.

You should be able to see the string sliding.  With the Prince Duraflex I am always able to stay the same tension.  With this newer string I am using whihc is much more stiff the tension when I am done seems to vary just a little.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Wednesday night was just alright.  D and I won the first set but Jeffro and VIC won the second.  The club was an absolute disaster area due to all the heavy rains/hail.  We couldn't even get beer because everyone that worked at the club that night was running around trying to save the club.  There was a tornado warning in the area so we had to stop playing for 10-15 minutes to take cover.  The rest of the night was sort of lacking intensity and focus.  Always good to get out on the court and run around a little bit though!  I need to get back to the ways of high intensity/focus during matches so I can expect it all the time!  Better tennis to come...........................................!!!!!!

Tennis has been aight lately.  I tried to play singles a couple weeks ago!  I was subbing in the club's singles league and, who do I get to play but the infamous Jamesdster!  I haven't played singles in at least a year and I am supposed to compete against him???  Biatch please!  He waxed my s**te something fierce, sending me back to doubles only for another year or so!  Anyway, Doubles is more my game!  The return is feeling pretty good, the anticipation and volleying is also.  Just need to keep working on holding serve as much as possible.

Doubles and singles ARE different animals fer sure.  Your doubles game is perty sweet these days; it's a huge adjustment walking onto a singles court especially when you haven't played it in forever.

Oh, from what I heard he should feel bad!!  He has me 3-0 at singles too, and none of them were close.  And to make matters worse, I am pretty sure he took it easy on me.  I think he was still wearing dress clothes from work?

We played last winter (maybe 2 years ago now that I think about it).  I just remember seeing a light of hope to break back and get back on serve and then I remember seeing a dark hole appear and you jumping out of it, running all the way across the court into Mark Mathias' court and ripping a forehand *a-r-o-u-n-d* me at the net and the ball dropping in 1 foot each way inside the lines.  Then you put your shoes on after that point and changed picked up a racquet without broken strings in it and kicked my butt.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Jamesdster pulled some behind the back crap against me!   ;;)   Luckily, I knew he has those kinds of skillz so I was expecting it to come over and was able to put it away.  He tried to hit behind his back again but even he should have known better!   :)~
