I hit 5-hundo today!   I guess now I am a Tennis God instead of just a tennis chump like I used to be.  

Unfortunately, I have no tennis to talk about since I last played last Wednesday.  I will play tomorrow night though so we will see how it goes.

Played last night with Scott's normal partner, VIC, against DW and MC.   We won 6-4, 6-4!  I was generally happy with how I played!  We had 1 seriously sweet point, and many other competitive ones.  

I have been lightly tampering with my serve toss and motion on 1st and 2cnd serves to make them more similar in the interest of the returner not being able to read whether a flat serve or kick serve is coming.  I am trying to get my toss consistently slightly to the left of my body whether I am going to hit the flat or kick serve.  Then I can change my motion as it is happening to go the 1 way or the other.  I really think and hope this continues to make my serve less readable and therefore less breakable!  I only got broke once last night.

It is not the toss that gives it away though.  The way you stand before the toss gives it away.  You do not even have to get tot he toss to know what is coming.  I assume you mean you have been working on that?

I don't think I stand differently for my 1st and second.  My motion and toss are when I thought it became obvious what serve is coming.  

BTW, Freebird and I and possibly VIC are planning on playing Friday night at the Tree.  Are you interested?

Do what I do...toss it up and take a whack at it.  You can't possibly know where it's going because even I have no idea where it's going.   ;;)

It's a hard thing to throw the toss consistently and then hit different serves off the same toss but that's vital so that your opponent can't read get a beat on it.  I used to give away my wide serve all the time but now I have improved on it at least a little.  Another thing to watch is ....once you get the toss stableized, be careful not to give away any grip change.  I found that when I started getting the toss where I wanted it, I had to change the grip more depending on whether I was hitting a hard flat one or swinging it wide or hitting the big kicker.  So, say it with me now....toss the ball the same every time.

I really think I stand the same for a 1st or 2cnd serve.  Please elaborate if you can so I understand what you mean.  Are you saying I place my feet differently or is my body turned differently or what?????????????????????

Played last night in the USTA league.  Back again with my normal partner, Freebird!  The 2 guys we played are borderline 5.0 players and we should have won, IMO!  There were lots of good points but in the end they had more than us!  I am a little unpleased with that result, but oh well, pick up and move on!  I am pretty happy with my play recently as I feel I have been making small improvements especially with my serve!  Lost 2-6, 6-3, 4-6!  

Oh, I played Friday night as well only this time it was with another teammate against Freebird and another 4.5 guy who competes on a different team.    IMO, we were slightly the less talented duo overall and yet we played tough winning the 1st set 6-3 and up a break in the second but couldn't get it done...losing the 2cnd set in a tie-break.  The 3rd set was okay but we lost it!  We played a 4th set which was plagued by calls controversy and flaring tempers!  It was ugly and not really a fun set..............but overall the night was pretty sweet!   I caught fire on my return for awhile which felt amazing!
