I get to play tonight in our little Wed. night league among my teammates!  I have been extremely pumped about tennis lately!  Maybe it had something to do with watching so much AO.  I don't know, but I have been playing about 3 times per week and I want to play more!  My body needs at least a day off between days playing to recover!    ;-()

Jeffro emailed me this morning and told me that his whiney little self is going to finally play tonight after getting that little boo boo on his finger.  You guys take it easy on him alright?   ;)
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

Yeah, WTF, does that fool ever play tennis anymore?   Many things have kept him from tennis lately.  Most unfortunate!  Anyway, screw that we are gonna smack him.....unless of course he and I play together in which case I feel sorry for our opponents!    :whip:  :whip:

Oh, and for the boo boo, I thought he tried slicing his finger off!

It was probably more minor than a paper cut.

Played last night with the great Jeffro against MC and VIC!  We came out as flat as you can and got the bagel tied on us 6-0.  A 6-0 bagel almost never happens among us mates.  Anyway, we were holding serve nicely and trying to get into the match in the 2cnd set.  We broke at 3-3 and again for the 2cnd set to 6-3.  The whole 3rd set came down to 1 service break against me in a game where we were up 40-15.  We lost the 3rd set 6-4.  I was very unhappy that the 1 break is all there was to it, but that is how our matches can tend to be......every single point in a set can prove vital to its outcome!  We had some chances to break their serve in the 3rd set but couldn't seal the deal!

Last night, Scott and I played against the great J-ster and 2M.  2M is a guy that plays for our club's other 4.5 team in the USTA leagues.  Scott and I won 5-7, 7-6, 6-2.  We were all holding serve until I got broke at 5 all in the 1st set.  To that point was not that exciting as we were holding serve fine but didn't have a single break point chance.  After getting broke and dealing with some unacceptable errors, I literally checked out of the match.  I was playing un-inspired tennis, to say the least!

Next thing I know, we lost the 1st set 5-7, and were quickly down 2 breaks at 0-3 in the 2cnd set.   Scott was insistent that we get back into the match, so I aired my grievance of us still not having a single break point chance.  Scott said that was about to change then we proceeded to return better and won the 2cnd set 7-6.

I told Scott at the beginning of the 3rd set that there was no reason we couldn't play that perfect set where we return all serves without missing any!  I missed 3 returns and Scott missed only 2 in the whole 3rd set!   We held all of our service games and won the 3rd set 6-2.

Needless to say, I started to play inspired tennis when we were down 0-3 in the second set and Scott was insisting upon it.  All in all, it was a very good match!

Yeah, I called him earlier and left a message and he hasn't called me yet.  I see no reason that he should not be able to play outside of being slammed as he usually is.     We shall see!
