Pfft, if I wanted to I could call VIC right now and ask him if he was playing because I was itching to play.  he would bow right now, he is too nice, and I am not that mean.  I will wait to see if all show.  He missed out Sunday, I am sure he will do what he can to get his mid week madness on the court in.

Crap, I forgot to post on last night's play.   Probably because I could be in denial since I was trying to forget the way it went down.

 DW and I played many good points with good shots and good court positioning, but it didn't matter because VIC and the great Jeffro were all over us.  Jeffro hit probably 10 or more shots that were 5.0 plus shots where we had to swallow our pride and say "too good".    Actually, all together Jeffro's game last night was 5.0 and VIC was right behind with 4.85 play.  It was their night!  

We only got beat 6-3, 6-3 (1 break in each set) with an additional set of 7-6 where they got us in the tie-break.    We played pretty good but they played awesome!

Played last night in a league match with Freebird.   We won 6-3, 6-3.  All in all, very solid on our part.   We held serve every time and were able to break our opponents 1 time in each set.  I couldn't quite get it going like I really wanted to but fairly consistent throughout with some very nice points sprinkled in.  Freebird caught fire on his return game and served really well all night.  Good win, lets build on it, and keep this train rolling in the right direction!  It feels good to be winning!   :uh:  

We played a 3rd set for fun and agreed to play a tie-break at 5-5 in the set.  We lost the 3rd set tie-break.

Played singles Monday night and lost 8-6 to a solid 4.0 singles player.  He is a strong 4.0 singles player and I would be a mediocre 4.0 singles player.  I had actually been trying to get him to join our 4.5 USTA league team before.  

Singles frustrates me to no end because the positioning, groundstroke stategies, and footwork of it just doesn't come natural to me at all the way dubs does.  Maybe if I played singles more than an average of a handful of times per year, I could get the real hang of it!     :-o
