We talked very little as usual for any match for us. There is usually no need to talk, I think we both know what went down.
Talking on the court can be overrated. Let me elaborate. I played dubs w/ Tom W the other day and he yelled at me DURING the point. That’s right. Not AFTER but DURING. I didn’t put away an overhead and as our opponent lobbed over us and as we were running back chasing it down, he screams “WILL YOU PLEASE PUT THE BALL AWAY!” Hilarious! <He was joking but coming from him (the quiet one) it was pretty damn funny.>
Hey Jster, I think we need some updates in your journal of your recent on-court adventures!
Quote from: "OSU Buckeye"Hey Jster, I think we need some updates in your journal of your recent on-court adventures!ok, here it is.....knee feels like HELL. It's actually been locking up on me. So, obviously I can't move at all thus I am not playing very well. Newsflash, tennis is hard to play with no wheels. You can beat a Scott now and then, but against real players you have no chance.
Played Sunday at 2cnd dubs with MC while Scott and VIC played the 1st spot. We played 2 very solid players and consequently lost the 1st set 6-3 but we won the 2cnd set 6-4 and the 3rd set 7-5! I wasn't planning on playing (to rest the aching elbow) but one of our other guys got sick so I had to play. Our 1 opponent was an older guy who is extremely solid but his serve has been very weak lately so he was easy to break. That guys teammate (our other opponent) is a very solid lefty who not so long ago had a knee surgery and didn't play as good Sunday as I have seen him play in the past! It was a good win for us! I was happy with my return game and generally happy with everything else! Most importantly the elbow didn't feel too bad and still feels better than it did last week.

Knee surgery or not, this guy was rated up to 5.0 at one point and appealed his way back down. I have had 1 close match with that guy and 2 not so close matches. One of those matches he schooled Jeffro and I 6-0, 6-1. Jeffro and I were laughing, there was nothing we could do, he tore us up. I didn't think he moved that bad from what I could see Sunday night. He missed a few shots that I saw but he hit some smooth ones too.
I was thinking JM would not lob too much. But I saw the dude hit SEVERAL weird looking lobs. Tons of them were landing around the baseline. He knows that ceiling height well.
You guys play with Big Michael Chang?
wait. you all know each other in rl?! erhs too?
Quote from: "ERHS" You guys play with Big Michael Chang?I wish, he was one of my all-time favorites! The MC I am referring to is just an older (38 or so) dude thats falling apart mostly.........but he has a huge serve, the best overhead I have ever played against, and he hits flat and hard as he can on pretty much everything!
Just a joke guys. I wish I knew you folks and played against you.
