Hi, my name is anti and I'm a recovering rac-yakker. Still coming to terms with its demise, but it is always fun to see old friends (cakes, cgw, arnod, Mary-Caroline, Sophie, ACE, if I forgot anyone I apologize) and meet new people.

I might not post on this board as often as I like, but with Rac-Yak gone, I need an outlet for my vast tennis knowledge :)~

I hope dagnat, dog, and some of the other Rac-Yakkers come on over.

I join with Trente-Quinze (whatever the heck that means...oh, shoot, can't we just keep calling you "Arnod," you silly Frog?) in thanking you for granting the Yakkers asylum here. Here's hoping we don't turn it INTO an asylum.  :))

Yeah I felt like changing identities but almost refrained from because I know how disturbing it is for others. After all I still mainly refer to Yamotha as Cakes, which I guess is a good thing considering that's how she registered here.

However I chose Arnaud/Arnod in 2 seconds when I first registered on the old msnbc bbs and it wasn't the brightest idea I ever had even though I've got used to it as anybody else. So you are still allowed to refer to me as Arnod and will always be.  :angle-not:

Trente-quinze means thirty-fifteen in French.
30 because I'm in my 30ies and 15 because that's about the age I was when I got hooked to tennis (needless to say, I will never switch to 40-15) ;-()

I was also tired to have people confused on my gender. Please note how much more gender-explicit trente-quinze is compared to arnod.  ;;)

Whew, glad to hear the seeding challange thing we do here is different, we will carry on with that format and define it as we go.  I think our next step is to just award more points like I mentioned above for picking players to go further so we can get out of having a 3 way tie for first place.  :)

Welcome RY board members!!!

The "bracquety challenge" was basically predicting (before the start of a slam) the last 8, last 4, last 2 players and final winner.

I don't think Mat can "claim paternity" of the idea considering some kind of bracket competitions exist everywhere. However I perfectly understand - and agree - that he'd like to protect the exact concept, especially as he is now talking of maybe opening another site in the future.

Whatever, we are not coming here to import and impose all our "bad customs". :))
There are  many ways to devise fun little games and your seeding challenge does seem to be an interesting idea. ;)

Tennis Freak,

I don't know what the "avatar" is.
Tell me;
  What is the avatar?
Who are "they" that blocked it?
Does it need to be unblocked?
Can a member unblock the avatar if necessary?
How does a member unblock it?

Please reply.

The Avatar is the image next to your name.  It looks like you linked to one on delorie.com and they are not allowing that.  They replaced it with a huge red box that says please do not link to this image.  Check it out next to your name on any post you made.  Not the first time we have seen something like that, you never know who might do that.

If you have an avatar you like I can put it on my website for you to link to, I promise I will not diss you with the big red box.  :)

Katrina

Don't tell Scott that, he'll get a big head.  ;-()
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

I guess I have to post my lewd comments about WTA players here now.  ;)

I would say goodbye to Mat and thank him, but he has suspended my posting privileges.  Guess he didn't think my joke about 'trolling' was very funny.

Mat doesn't need your "thanks".

He asked for your reply to define "troll" and you never did. That mey be why he would silence you.....because of your attitude.

naughty, naughty Dog.  But admit it, wouldn't you rather go out this way?  And it could be worse: you could be expelled instead of suspended!  Then you'd never get to post there again!  :|

Hello to all my old friends from RakYak, and thanks to Scott and the others here for welcoming us!  Now we don't have to live like a ref-u-gee!
