What are Roger's chances of winning the French Open in 2005?
« on: February 10, 2005, 10:49:36 AM »
Personaly I think he has a good shot at it this year.   He did win the tier 1 before the French last year beating Coria and Moya, two of the very best clay courters.   He has won or been runner-up in a tier 1 each of the last three years.    I know he lost in the 3rd round last year, but remember he played a 3-time champion in the 3rd round who played one of his best matches in years to beat Roger.   With any other draw he probably is in atleast the quarters or semis last year.   Coria may find it harder to win the French the more opportunities he misses, Moya may not have another slam in him, Gaudio will find it hard to repeat, Nadal may not be ready to go all the way yet.   So I think Roger has a reasonable chance to win it this year.    Plus he will be very hungry, people are writing him off after his dissapointing Aussie Open.

I also think he got a very good shot at winning the FO.  I'm sure he wants to make up for a disappointing AO. But if he's dragged to a few 5 setters, I don't think he got the stamina. He pretty much ran out of gas against Safin at AO. But here's hoping he does win FO  ://
I've been a tennis bum for half my life.
I'll just be a bum for the other half.

I would love to see it happen.  His game is soooo sweet it would be a shame if he couldn't.

He certainly has a chance, but after being sent packing in STRAIGHT SETS by  Guga last year (who, to his credit, has won 3 FOs, but he was nowhere near that level last year), I have doubts.

I kinda hope he doesn't. Maybe then I can hear Patrick McEnroe commentate for the rest of the year without him having Federer's nuts in his mouth.

Definitely could have done without the "Federer's nuts in his mouth."

Let's refrain from making dirty, disreputable and divisive remarks.

I know you saw this Scott....Why no action?   :-o  :yuk:  :no-no:

A simple question goes unanswered.
What a terrible attitude.
That was very rude.
You won't hear from me anymore.

lol, terrible attitude eh?  Nice.  Does ACE go with you, or do we just lose Holly?  Since both are working off of the same IP we can only come to one conclusion.

And BTW, my attitude here is a good one.  Read into it as you will.

Scott,

You are the "administrator" who is immaturely trying to administrate.

In your FAQ it is written;
Question: Whom do I contact about abusive and/or legal matters related to this board?
Answer: You should contact the administrator of this board. If you cannot find who that is, you should first contact one of the forum moderators and ask them who you should in turn contact.

It doesn't say anything about contacting the "TROLL" of this board.

Your registration and agreement terms;
Does NOT state that two members cannot be at the same IP address.
We are two seperate people, using the same computer....we have joined in good faith, and have NOT broken any of the terms listed. Is it not permissable that two family members join a tennis forum? Show me where the terms prohibit that.

It is clear that Holly had a legitimate complaint because your terms state;
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed).

So you are NOT abiding by the terms you have in your "Agreement".

Your attitude is not what it should be, and you are a fool if you really think as you stated;
"And BTW, my attitude here is a good one. Read into it as you will."

I HAVE "read" into it, and your attitude is BAD! You are playing with a "tennis board" as though it is your toy, sticking your replies into every topic and trying to play "Can you top this?" Worse still, you don't enforce your Registration and Agreement Terms.

I'm sticking around this board just to keep an eye on how badly you continue to "Administer".
I have a thick enough skin, Holly is too sensitive to your bad attitude so she has left for good.

 BTW...You are wrong about  "Does ACE go with you, or do we just lose Holly? Since both are working off of the same IP we can only come to one conclusion."

That is the WRONG conclusion!
I wonder how many other members see you as I do?
I'm not going to take any crap

ACE had something like five user accounts at Racquety-Yak and would respond to his/her own threads.

it was kind of weird.

Unfortunately, I see that ACE (and all his other persona) is up (down) to his old tricks of picking fights and attacking personally. This trait, and others' resistance to it, was a causal factor in the closing down of the Racquety-Yak tennis bbs IMO.

It is tiresome, but I guess it serves to bolster the cyber-bully's insecurities to act his way. I feel pity for anyone who has to act from his/her own insecurities, fear, and anger in this way.

The vast majority of posters on the bbses I chat with play well with others and it's great. It's a matter of respect for the opinions of others.

I am sorry that ACE chooses to interact less than congenially. His altercations hurt HIM more than anyone else. I also think that he has a lot of good insights into tennis, but if he continues to abuse others, he will never get a chance to share them.

Saddened, but not surprised,
Grey
