I have to go with Federer for current player.  All time favorite is Sampras.  But Federer is so dang smooth it is sickening.  I looooove watching him play, I have never seen anyone do the things he does.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

I like different players for different reasons.  But for this list I'm only going to list people I love/ed to watch play, especially when they're "on."

So in no particular order.

MEN:

Gustavo Kuertan
Marcelo Rios
Ivan Lendl
Roger Federer
Hicham Arazi
Henri Leconte
Andre Agassi
Younes A
Sampras
Yannick Noah
Fernando Gonzalez
Sebastien Grosjean
Paradorn Srichiphan
James Blake
Jimmy Connors

Johnny Mac just took so much time between points... Rafter's game was distinctive, but he exerted so much effort it was sometimes difficult for me to watch... I liked the drama and unpredictability Goran brought to matches, but I didn't particularly like his game... Santoro is fun to watch when he's giving people fits, but when he's getting his ass beat he's boring... I like Safin but I don't really enjoy watching his matches... Nicolas Escude is really fun sometimes...

WOMEN:

Martina Hingis
Venus
and
Serena Williams
Justine Henin (although I hate her...)
Maria Sharapova
Patty Schnyder

Sampras and Federer...I think what I like most is that they both just get/got out there and did their job which was playing tennis and, of course, entertaining me (because in my little world, it's all about me). No histrionics (or not many, anyway) although I have heard that Federer had quite the temper when he was a Junior. Guess he's found his "happy place" now.

As for the women...Graf and Hingis. Graf was just a joy to watch, nuff said. I loved the angles that Hingis was able to play on a regular basis. What a shame that, in the end, she forgot about using that weapon and tried to out-hit the Big Babes.
She KNEW she had a big fat ass...and her attitude was "Kiss it!"

I forgot to mention Andre. I can't really say that he's one of my "favorites" but, in the last few years, I've really enjoyed him and appreciated his re-dedication to his tennis. Couldn't stand him when he was young; such a whiny, little ass.

MC ill Logic--you might not care for Goran's style but you've got to admit that he gives some of the best interviews ever.

Even though I don't remember anything in particular, I do think of him as being an amusing interview subject.  Like a grumpier Marat Safin.  Didn't he once accuse female players of being fat?

I thought it was hilarious when he would rip up his shirts on the way to the chair during changeovers.  Hehe.

MEN
Marat Safin
Andre Agassi
Tommy Haas
and my favorite up and comer -- Gaston Gaudio.

WOMEN

Maria Sharapova (even tho I hate her sportsmanship)
Lindsay Lee-Waters REALLY impressed me at this year's AO --

That's all for now --

February 5, 2005 -- FORMER tennis ace Ivan Lendl used to be the top seed, but now he's gone to seed. Students at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Fla., were taken aback recently when they caught sight of Lendl, who was the No. 1 player in the world four times (1985-'87 and '89) and won both the French and U.S. Opens three times. Lendl, who has gained "about 70 pounds," according to our spy, would have gone unrecognized had one of the tennis pros not pointed him out. Lendl, who moved from Greenwich, Conn., to a large townhouse on the Bollettieri campus with his wife and kids, has mostly hung up his racquet in favor of the slower-paced golf links, we're told.
He's the last person I thought would let himself go like this.  There's no hope for any of us.
