I am happy for Amelie thou.  This could turn out to be a huge win for her.

On an earlier thread in which we asked to pick the slam winners, I picked Mauresmo to win the French and at least one person scolded me for that pick.  I just really feel that she is ready to make a breakthrough, especially on clay.  And I am not even a big fan of her, just recognize great talent.
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

Arcforce, I agree with you that Venus does seem to be (finally) getting back to her old level of play. A few more tournaments without injuries should put her back where she can be considered a real threat for every title. (She might have wanted that diamond racket too much and tried too hard).

Anyway, it's good to see her in good form again. If she keeps on improving, she might even beat Serena next time! I didn't think that would ever happen again, but now I'm beginning to think it might. If they play each other this year, maybe enough time has gone by that they could "forget" they were playing a sister and not be as up- tight as they usually are when they play each other.
