I like the new Santana / Nickelback song.  Other than that, I am just listening to a mix of things again.  I was listening to a little bit of Fiest too, it was OK.

Don't know. But I agree, it is catchy. So much so that I Googled it and found the full length video. It's total cornball. iPod did a good job marketing it with a tiny, sometimes upsidedown screen and edited version.

Ravin had an underground show for years out of NYC...she is for real.  If you like electronic music, check out the former duo Saeed and Palash(tribal/progressive)...addictive beats, vol. 1 and 2, the tide edit, and ANY of their rips, live from Space, etc.

Here is a track that will blow your mind: "Forevermore" by Moloko.  You can't really go wrong with Spanish duo Chus and Ceballos, John Creamer and Stephane K, Behrouz, Dj Vibe, or Steve Lawler, and of course, Brooklyn's own Danny Tenaglia.

An excellent remix is Sinead's "Troy" by Creamer and K, or JP's edit.  Also, check out Julie McKnight("Finally", "Home", "Diamond Life")...

You may also like 'Scumfrog', Victor Calderone, Pete tha zouk, Farsheed and Bali, Dj Merrit(sp?)...and check out Jamiroquai when you are just chillin.

Stay away from Van Burin, Van Dyk, Oakenfold, and other hapless trance artisits.

And maybe Nick Warren would be good too, though he is VERY progressive, and you have to ride him out at times...

My boy is a big DJ in NY--his name is Mike Negron, with fatalmusic, in Amsterdam, and also check out anything under the 'twisted' label...these people have invented bass driven house.

And you should try Yousef...he is an english dj who used to have a residency at cream, and upstate's very own Tom Stephan, better known as 'superchumbo.'

I'm not a big fan of music, but when my favorite artist of all time releases a comeback album, I buy it. And no... I'm not talking about Britney Spears; I'm talking about the Backstreet Boys. You can tell that I am a dedicated fan, ex: Andy's '06 season. I'm super excited about this album because most likely, it'll be their last and I will savor it. When they go on tour, it'll also be the first time I'll see them live. In fact, it'll be my first live concert besides my own. Their album drops the same day as Britney Spears', which makes me nervous about their success. I haven't seen a single commercial about their album, nor have I seen their video on TV or heard their song on the radio, which is a bad sign. 

But, I'm liking Colbie Callait's Bubbly and Fergie's Clumsy right now.

My current fav is "Lone Pilgrim" by Crooked Still.  Sort of a gospel dirge, with some wacky cello, bass, and banjo.

I like Ravin, but I don't think it's the Ravin you are talking about. He's an Indian DJ who did a few Buddah Bar comps. I'm not so much into house music. I like to listen to interesting music that hits the spot. Sometimes that turns out to be house music.
I can point out a few "modern" groups I like though:

Those aren't "house music" and they aren't DJs. I'm more into "destination" music. Music with a tinge of Persian, or Chinese, or Japanese or Spanish music (or really any ethnic type music). That's why I like the George V series' like Buddah Bar and Siddharta.
About the only DJs I've really focused on would be Claude Challe, Ravin, Dimitri from Paris and Ursala 100. I guess Amon Tobim is a DJ too. I also like Ninga Tunes collections too. That's some interesting stuff.

Let me make a guess based on the link: it's a midi version of Deuling Banjos.
Midi versions of songs are usually lifeless, so I don't feel to bad having missed this one.

Both are good, but the TennisOne link is awesome if you like to watch slo-mo vids of top players strokes.

I got that new Backstreet Boys album, and even thugh I'm a devoted fan, I can say it's really bad. Out of 16 tracks, I can probably only listen to about 3 of htem. That's pretty sad.
