Some places in Europe like here in Britain, France, Finland etc have always had much hiher prices compared to a lot of the world and over the last 5-6 years its really increased and when it went above the £1 it was absolutely shocking and it kept going to about £1.25 which per gallon and in $ was about $8 depending on the exchange rate. The economies and financial situation has been able to handle it much more in some European places and a large sum of that is tax put on by our ever so kind Government as they know its something we all need and we will pay it whatever. Also they hoped at one stage we'd all stop using our cars and get public transport, but thats usually a disaster as well.
