The highest gas price in California on http://www.californiagasprices.com/ is $3.99 in Bridgport. That is located in the desert near the Nevada border.
Northern California typically pays about $.20 more than Southern California from my experience. But that report appears to be a little off.

That makes our over $3 a gallon seem better.................but not by much!?

In some parts of Socal gas is 4.19 per gallon

I think the price is based on how close civilization is to the station. If the station is out in the middle of nowhere (last gas for 100 miles), then they will charge more. But if you know where to look, you won't be paying near as much.

That's gotta suck. I haven't yet paid over $3 for gas, and I don't plan on it. Well I guess i won't like stop driving if it does go over $3. We should all start saving .. start an account for just gas. you know, so our grandkids or whatnot can afford gas if gas is still around then. Think about it.. $2 a day should be a good amount to go to my gas fund.

$3.09 is the most expensive, in that same zip.

I haven't seen any prices from across the pond, or from Kara in the Philippines. I know it's tough to make a comparison because first you have to convert gallons to liters, then you to convert pounds or Euros into dollars. But I'd be curious to hear what they are paying.
From what I've heard we in the US have much less to complain about than they do in Europe. But I also think we depend on our cars more than they do in Europe.

sorta plateaued here at 2.81. I don't know if I should be happy but hey at least I still haven't paid over $3 for gas.

These are the days when you gotta love a civic - I'm at 240 miles and the bar is barely showing half empty, so you figure with the accelerated decline I'll have at least 400 miles for the whole tank
that's not the only good thing about it either, the thing handles liek a dream, you feel really connected and in control of the car, especially at curves and such. good car + good gas mileage + bad fuel times = good deal.

We've got a couple over $3.15, but I'm still paying $2.95. The way it went up, it's seems destined to crack the $3 barrier though.

Wow, it's sad when that number looks pretty good compared to recent numbers I have seen.
